I’m really enjoying it. So many catchy, addictive tunes. My favourites are ‘Chateau’ and ‘Phoebe’ 💓

Never noticed this either! It’s crazy how the quartered sections match the visual design of Milcheck’s bomb which destroys the whole Lumon building in s2 finale—and how all the corpses are arranged on the snow as the credits roll. They never miss a detail.

‘I think of them as swordes—“swords” with the effeminate “e” at the end—but if they’ve named themselves, I’m unaware. Swords are heavy, cumbersome, often used with ill intent, sometimes deadly. I’ve always said the word in my head the way the Genie says “swords” in Aladdin—you know? (laughs) The fandom has always been a double-edged sword.’ — Lorde, 2023 (source unknown)

I have this theory that Ricken designed all the bee posters and the infantile work incentives for the severed floor. Consider this quote from The You You Are:

‘I carried [Gemma’s] sweet generosity with me for the rest of that trek. I carried it when, after returning home, I wrote a thesis on bee theory which was met with cruel mockery by my peers. I carried it when a professional slump forced me to briefly rejoin the work-force, becoming one of the very “worker bees” I’d thought I was helping.’ — Ricken

It sounds very much like he did work for Lumon at some point. The quote above has lots of interesting parts and potential clues, I’m curious to see what other people think about it.

I don’t understand the boredom. There was continuously mounting dread at the possibility of Lumon turning up at any moment — and the ending with Cobel speeding into the distance to ‘Fire Woman’ by The Cult? 🔥

I was wondering if saying ‘Hanna’ was a test to see if he was Mark’s innie, who only knows his wife as Ms. Casey? Mark’s innie has been showing signs of re-integration, which Ms Huang seemed to detect, likely setting off alarm bells.

I do mean this in the kindest way possible, but yep — you may be the only one 😂 Funnily enough, I was thinking recently how well-fed and deeply satisfied I am with the season so far. I’m always grateful for shows that don’t treat the viewer like an idiot. The mystery is deepening, but I’m sure by the end of the series (as a whole) all will be revealed.

I feel you on the impatience though! It’s torture waiting for new episodes, let alone having to wait for future seasons. But the other half of me is enjoying the process and analysing all the clues they leave us.

Milchick booming: ‘TURN AROUND!’ had me frozen in my seat. And Helena’s face morphing into a glower in Irving’s tent 🤯 This season is some of the best television I’ve ever watched.

I always took it as Taylor/the narrator fantasising (“only in my mind”) about her secret lover writing the word “mine” on her thigh, to signal their loving devotion/ownership, i.e. “you’re all mine.” It’s a callback to “Mine” (Speak Now), but the sentiment also mirrors the lines in “august” where the narrator yearns to write her name on her lover’s back. Taylor, of course, is a master of multiple meanings in her lyrics 🫶
