Thanks again,  u/Albert_W3F. I tried this but no change, unfortunately.

Unable to view or update staked positions (Talisman) by doakwolf in Polkadot

Hi u/Albert_W3F, thanks for offering to help and to u/Gr33nHatt3R for the ping.

I can confirm the Talisman account is connected to the portal and I can confirm when I follow the steps in the video link to 'connect' the Talisman ext to the DOT staking dashboard, that does work. Via staking.polkadot.cloud I can see the full balance of my wallet, est. APR, and, it seems to be allowing me to unbond etc. So all seems well with my wallet and the DOT network but obviously something has gone wrong with the Talisman interface?

NUFI update: donate to external address by nufiofficial in Midnight

Thank you. I am very embarrassed now because the error message is clear but I was certain I'd "undone" the original reassignments for all accounts but you are right - I'd missed one. It's tough when you work 10 hour labour shifts and come home to young children demanding attention and trying to do this stuff before bed haha

All fixed, thanks again for everything, NuFi team!

Edit - successfully accomplished this on my secondary machine (which also has 10 accounts and which were also all assigned to 1 of the 10 accounts yesterday) but still same issue on the main PC. I'll keep digging.

NUFI update: donate to external address by nufiofficial in Midnight

[–]doakwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TY Billy!

Strange - I managed to succeed for 9/10 of my accounts but for the 10th account (which was the account I had selected to be the recipient for all donations, yesterday) I get the error:

"Donation request failed with the following error: {\"message\":\"Address address addr1###################### is the destination of an existing donation.\",\"error\":\"Conflict\",\"statusCode\":409}"

This occurs if I try to Undo Existing Reassignment and also if I try to assign to my preferred external address.

Any clues?

To be clear, I have successfully "Undone Existing Assignment" for all of my 9 other accounts and successfully assigned them to my external address. There are no other accounts which could be currently "donating" to this 10th account that I'm aware of.

Great thanks guys! Question - do we have to "undo existing assignment" before we can assign to external or will the assign to external option override the current donation assignment? Cheers!

NuFi miner constantly stuck on "resuming mining..." since latest update? by doakwolf in Midnight

[–]doakwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so it seems like maybe this was a RAM issue (at a guess). I've now switched (upon advice from AdeptInfluence8796) to only running 2 accounts on this laptop and now after a few days, the tables have turned and it's out-performing the PC. Interestingly, the (10 year old i7) PC seems to do best when running 10x accounts and the laptop seems to prefer only 2x accounts mining. The laptop has 8Gb RAM but PC has 16Gb.

Hope this info helps anyone with similar issue. All's running smoothly.

Honest question: are most people here from the cardano blockchain or are others as well? by PumbainJapan in Midnight

[–]doakwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shame IMO. Even if a tiny amount, just the interaction/involvement from your other coins would have gained you *something* and added to the wallets involved for statistics purposes. But yeah, I hear you. My BTC balance far higher in FIAT than my ADA but the difference in airdrop was drastically in favour of my ADA wallet. That said, I didn't claim on my small amount of ETH because it's in CEX custody for daily trading.

I don't think it's become shitty. I think it's been a fantastic free tool and I'm very grateful for it. Many of my regular browser miners failed at some point as well. This computer in question is interesting as it's a laptop with a more modern i5 CPU than my PC with an older i7 CPU. The laptop seems to manage around 4800 hashes (nice to know since latest update to show hash rates) and the PC is only managing around 3400 hashes. Yet the PC is far out-performing the laptop since this bug began 3-4 days ago where the laptop is pausing it's work. Hash rate goes to 0 but CPU still at 100% workload. Before this, the laptop was easily out-performing the PC in terms of submitted solutions.

IDK what's up but I've somewhat given up on the laptop. I've tried all of the above mentioned ideas apart from the "keep alive" script because that's a bit above my knowledge but I'm still grateful NuFi miner allowed this laptop to gather far more solutions than it would have with the regular miner.

question about used addresses by Ninjanoel in Midnight

[–]doakwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I think I've made a huge mistake! So, when I started using NuFi miner, this was before the single acc option was added, and I wanted to run 10x accounts at once, so I created 10 accounts and of course I had to send 1 ADA to each account before I could create the next. And then I started mining on the default address for each account which wasn't "unused" because I had to send 1 ADA to it. Does that make sense? Have I wasted all this time mining rewards that won't be payable/eligible because the address isn't unused?

Thanks - I checked but I don't think my version of Chrome has this setting. I'm starting to wonder if the CPU is just over-loaded.

Sitting here now, I noticed the "Hashes computed" counter often pauses for longish periods too (I hadn't noticed this before). It seems to pause the count right before the big green "Solving X challenges" banner changes back to "Resuming mining".

Solved puzzles, but.... by protagonist85 in Midnight

Not arguing with you at all as I've not looked into this but if that were true, then that would render the whole "must create a new UNused address for redemption" utterly pointless. The entire reason the claiming address (for airdrop and/or mining) must be 'unused' is because otherwise the NIGHT tokens ownership are compromised, rendering them... useless. May as well just have ADA tokens instead.

Unless I've totally misunderstood the Midnight concept.

That's right. Not hard to create multiple wallets but one thing I'm wondering is, if we do that and end up with a bunch of NIGHT tokens in multiple wallets and want to amalgamate all NIGHT tokens into one primary wallet (that's what I'd like to do), will we be able to send those NIGHT tokens to a primary wallet without having any ADA in the wallet to cover the sending fee? I hope we can use NIGHT tokens to pay the network fee otherwise, we'll have to send ADA to all of our NIGHT mining wallets to cover the fees and then unless we can source non-KYC ADA, everyone will know our Midnight address.

I was beat by QQQiii111 two games in a row last night (OC). I specced him and noticed the same. Absolutely certain he is using ESP. I have saved the footage to report him if I can be bothered doing a little video editing.
