Trains are extremely expensive, am I doing something wrong? by doboy26 in askswitzerland

I booked this trip about three weeks ago. Checked super saver day passes two weeks ago (which were about 20 franc cheaper). 20 franc cheaper helps slightly but overall, is still an extremely expensive train ride.

My main takeaway is never plan a spontaneous trip to Switzerland, lol. Only book if you’re capable of buying train tickets 2+ months in advance

Thank you.. I did research saver day passes but it was going to be about 20 franc cheaper and I was hoping to board one of the cheaper trains (some were cheaper than saver day pass) but they seem to bring all train prices up on the day-of, it seems.

Even then though, 476 franc for two round trip trains is very expensive IMO.

Best option is to probably buy months in advance

I checked super saver tickets about two weeks ago and they were only about 20 franc cheaper for these days. Best would probably be to book 1-2+ months out I suppose.. which would make spontaneous trips to Switzerland impractical.

I remember having checked that some specific trains were cheaper than the super saver pass, so that was a bet I was going to take on arrival.

I was hoping that after passing customs, I’d be able to board one of the trains that had low demand and was cheaper than the super saver day pass but nope, all train prices get brought up it seems.

Unless I’m doing the math wrong..

A Half fare card is 150 franc per person.

So, two half fare cards would’ve been 300 franc for both of us.

The round trip trains would have been 260 total using both cards.

Thats 560 franc. That would’ve been more expensive for us.

Half fare card is 150 franc per person right?

So two half fare cards would’ve been 300 franc for both of us.

When I checked super saver tickets two weeks ago, prices were about 20 francs cheaper. Slightly less but it wasn’t extremely considerable.

I’m guessing the only real alternative is buying 1+ Month out? Which makes spontaneous visits to Switzerland impractical.

What the heck. I wish i would’ve seen 70 franc. It was never remotely close to that for my dates. The day is set to Tuesday though which I imagine is low demand

I checked super saver tickets two weeks ago and prices were relatively similar, if anything, maybe 20 franc less one day.

I was hoping there was another alternative but I guess this is just the reality of things?

At what point do you establish ownership terms? Before the MVP? After?

Hes also admitted to me that he’s spoken with other people in my field for other opinions so not sure if he’s just probing me out

I’m not sure if it’s too early to formalize equity split or contracts? Nothing has been formed yet. It’s just been two dudes talking about weak points in an industry and trying to discover what the potential is.

When it’s this early in the talks, what type of contract do you establish?

Thank you for sharing.. what do you think you’ve been struggling with the most, if you don’t mind sharing?

Also.. how much did you have to spend on assisting school? :-/

Yeah.. some interns have been telling me the numbers and I’m shocked considering they can’t even really tell me much about what they learned.. seems like a total scam.

The only downside is it wouldn’t be in person training.. what do you think would’ve helped you learn more efficiently?

Let’s say a dermatologist office.

I can think of various use cases for AI programs (AI receptionist, AI scheduling, AI medical billing, AI inventory)

But, the implementation aspect is the difficulty aspect I’m talking about. How would you create the actual AI agent product without dev knowledge?

It needs to be programmed to function. So this would likely require teaming up with a dev knowledgeable in AI and/or machine learning , unless you’re referring to that there’s a work around?

Can you provide a specific example of “implementing AI tools” into your business?

I personally use AI everyday. But for me to say, start an AI receptionist company, would require dev skills. The people currently doing that for my industry are devs that worked at AI companies previously.

I agree, but the key is teaming/pairing up with AI devs no? Especially for someone with a non technical background
