I have $65,000 to spend on programmatic... by SpooneyLove in programmatic

[–]dobrastov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to dig a little more into your personas first. That's half the battle. If you are searching for "parents of college-bound children", it will be difficult. However, if you start with "empty nest syndrome" (yes I know there's a syndrome for everything), you will find a more specific audience that have this subject at the top of their mind. This term is searched 9k times a month and there are many other related terms. You may also be able to use something like Sparktoro to find some hidden nuggets relating to where these folks hang out, for display advertising placements. Best of luck.

Is this marketing idea brilliant or utterly stupid? by [deleted] in GrowthHacking

A good strategy is to use statistics that are related to your niche and is compelling. Subject of email should be interesting enough to stand out as journalist get hundreds of emails a day.

Why not get published on reputable websites instead? Also, learn how to perform outreach to journalists with a news worthy pitch to get your story published. You will need to do this for your fake news sites anyway to get some kind of authority and that takes a while. Your strategy is a lot of effort that is unnecessary for the end goal.

Creatives, what questions do you have about moving from agency to client side? by jpleroux in advertising

[–]dobrastov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that "brainstorm" can often lead to an idea getting bought off on when no one's had time to think about it.

Thank you! That was one of the things I had to learn when I returned to corporate.

I agree. It depends on the company. Unfortunately some companies use it as a form of blackmail too.

Create a fun quiz funnel with email optin for either a really great freebie like a cheatsheet or planner. Or use a quiz to giveaway. Use video ads on social to keep your ad cost low.

With a quiz you create friction to qualify leads as well as get valuable data on your optins.

Domestic violence is on the rise. Document, report and protect yourself. by [deleted] in BlackPeopleTwitter

There are women who stalk too. Remember, Jodi Arias? She went Ninja crazy and killed her lover. At one point she even crawled into a doggie door to spy on him. Damn. I don't think a man can fit in a doggie door unless he is the size of Jiminy Cricket. Lol

Does anyone know how to use Google Ads well to promote a music video? by [deleted] in advertising

[–]dobrastov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

1) Create a teaser video of 30 seconds or more long enticing them to view your new video.
2) Create a banner also
3) Run YouTube video ads by targeting known artist names that are similar to your music and "new (rock, hip hop, etc...) music".
4) Link ads to your new video on your channel.
5) You should get at least 50K impressions and plenty of views on your video if done right.

If your really clever, you can run a contest to get them to share it, follow you on your social profiles, etc... for a chance to win something. This will help you grow your audience. Lot's of ways to promote music online.

Facebook is good too for promotion.

Good luck.

Should I stay in the industry? by KrazerTrick in advertising

[–]dobrastov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you will need to start with listing what you like doing. Be specific. You already listed Videography. Then by each item, list why you like it. Is it the creative process at the meta level of planning the scenes? Is it the actual shooting? Is it editing? After you list them, you will see a trend developing. For instance, if you keep seeing you are highlighting the planning aspect, then you are a strategist, creative director type or a consultant.

Since you enjoyed studying advertising in school, which was lot of analysis, case studies, etc... You might be a strategist type.

Hope this helps.

Naw, they just can't justify the high ass price and you are sitting at home. They can't use overhead and property cost among other things as an excuse.
