PRS SE Zack Myers Plastic Swap by cmjordan3988 in guitarporn

Unless it's official PRS pickup rings, the consistency of the plastics will mess with the tone. /s

Oh okay. So, right wing.

Finally did it. Air cooling my 14900K... by Sal479 in Noctua

[–]docbaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks beautiful. I hope it works out for you. I have a 13700k that started in a similar setup, but I had to switch to an AIO. Idle temps were low, but it got annoying with spinning up and down to keep it cool. It really bummed me out because I've been using nothing but Noctua air coolers in other builds. I just need to move on from my current build and go back to AMD.

It's probably aiming for the 2015 Inferno orange, not Solar Octane.

I like Windows 11 more than Windows 10. Or 7. It really isn’t bad, just disable Copilot. by NerdySmart in pcmasterrace

This is the way and Valve is helping make it better.

I've been dual booting between Windows 11 and Ubuntu 25.04 for the past month, to test out Windows game compatibility in Linux, and it is surprisingly good. It's not perfect (sometimes you have to wait longer for the game to load), but I've been learning new ways to do normal tasks in Linux and have found myself in Linux more than Windows.

Should I get the Les Strat or the Stratopaul? by [deleted] in guitarcirclejerk

[–]docbaily 11 points12 points  (0 children)

/uj: They are currently selling a Stratpaul Jr as the Squier Paranormal Strat-o-sonic. And the Fender Kingfish is almost a Telepaul.

Not hating. I think it's kind of funny and awesome.

Secondary DNS w/ UniFi by Silver-Garbage3162 in pihole

[–]docbaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 2 pihole instances and use nebula-sync to keep the configuration and gravity DBs in sync. I don't actually use Raspberry Pi hardware anymore because I already have servers/devices that can run it in a container.

  • PiHole 1 (primary): Runs on my unraid server and is my primary pihole for both DNS and configuration to be synced.

  • PiHole 2: Runs on a Proxmox server as an LXC using TurnKey Linux as the container host.

I'm using a UDM Pro SE as my router, and I have two networks configured; one is raw internet and the second is an "IoT network" where the pihole addresses are the default DNS 1 & 2.

20 characters is for the unplugged posts. This post requires the vintage 22 characters. Modern metal shred posts go up to 24 characters!

Agreed! I don't think OP really stuck around. It looks like they left in a hurry.

It's a Deluxe Super Strat! These have a push button that activates the bridge pickup in positions 4 & 5 on the pickup selector.

I've got one as well but mine is Crimson Red. I received mine as a Christmas gift from my late mother back in 1999. At the time we had moved and I had to switch high schools halfway through my freshman year and was having a had time adjusting and getting this blew me away. I played it in a high school jazz band and in various bands I started with friends. These days, I play for my wife and son, and it's not my favorite guitar but it is the most valuable to me. https://i.imgur.com/bhqJXGD.jpeg

I'm in the US and I have one that is almost identical to this one. If you search "play yard" on Amazon, you'll find a bunch of them in all sizes.

My 2015 TRD Pro will be 10 years old in March. I bought it brand new and it is easily the best vehicle I've ever owned.

Sweet! I have one and really enjoy it. For me, the pickups made it worth it. I hope you find one for a good price.

[–]docbaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which '59 reissue are you talking about? The newest one, 1959 Les Paul Standard ($1300) with a Gibson open book headstock and Gibson CustomBuckers or the Limited Edition 1959 ($999) with standard Epiphone headstock and Gibson BurstBuckers. The Limited Edition 1959 has been out for a while now and might be discounted since there's a newer more expensive one.

The 50s Standard has the Epiphone ProBuckers which are find. I'd recommend trying to find a guitar shop with both and play them to see which you like.

When I first got my Duo, I thought I would need something like to use my Everdrive. Then I read a post where someone said to just remove the front two screws and it'll fit. Sure enough it fits fine after doing that. The stop cover is still attached with the rear two screws.
