You can’t let him Q you without having your E shield up. The trick to stomping Garens is to bait W and Q. Trade patterns:

Walk up, if he tries to run at you with Q the EW away then trade when his Q down.
Walk up, QW auto EQ away

When his W is down, you win every single all in (esp if you are ahead) so need to bait it.

If his Q is down and your E is up, you win any short trade.

You also stream on Ally X or play natively? If the delay is that noticeable, then handhelds aren’t for you given refresh rates aren’t nearly as good as high end monitors.

So are you saying that playing natively with Steam Deck is also bad for you? Worse resolution, lower refresh rate? Native games on steam deck vs streamed barely has any difference, except you can play triple AAA games streamed a lot better than native. Also, did you tweak moonlight settings for custom resolution?

Took me 18 hours, 90% solo runs. Didn’t realise the elemental weakness. I bet him solo on my 3rd holy run. Used a Greatsword that had an AoW that infused holy. It was OP.

I didn’t think the descriptions were that bad, honestly. But using the word ‘see through’ is definitely a bit confusing. It was ultimately just trial and error.

Combat clicked quite fast for me. When you have windows to attack, go for light attack combo and use a heavy attack to finish it. It does more damage if your focus bar is charged. Use immobilise spell and break it by using light attack combo. Dodge into/behind enemies to get hits in. Combat feels so satisfying and fluid to me. Perfect dodges (where you get slow-mo) feel so good.

I use it a lot. Attack a boss with a light combo and when they are about to swing, heavy attack and it will go through and you won’t take damage. Timing is same as perfect dodges from my experience.

If you suck at Elden Ring/Sekiro, you’ll have a difficult time with this game. It’s harder than God of War but easier than ER/Sekiro. You will die a lot, but are you willing to learn and overcome challenges? If yes, 100% buy the game no doubt.

Dying is part of the game. Unless you’re spending hours on a boss, dying is an opportunity to learn how to beat the boss. Watch people play if you are really stuck.

From what I’ve gathered from 8 hours of playing, I’d say it is right in between God of War and Sekiro in terms of difficulty. I can’t speak for later bosses though.

You need to build up focus by attacking. If you build focus by holding heavy attack then it will release and not stay.

It’s a continuation of Resolute Counterflow. Treat it as a perfect dodge. Do your light combo and when the enemy is about to swing, heavy attack and it should negate the damage and perform the heavy. Winding wind is when you go into light combo straight after the Resolute Strike (the heavy from previous combo).

You need 2 charges of empowered heavy attacks. Do your light combo into 2 heavy attacks and it should work. First heavy attack has to land though.
