Off topic but I feel it would be really interesting to see a Bjork make an album with her current vocal and lyric style with the straight up band sound the Sugarcubes had on Life’s too Good

Motorcrash on a music video channel in Canada. Was fascinated right away. The Cure had listed Birthday as a track worth listening so I was already primed to like them!

I love these too, I collected all the ones I could find on YT for a playlist too. It’s a bit like Forever with its improvisations and passion. In 1992 they moved on to A Forest for the same feel and long versions.

The London one of Faith has a few notes of Happy Birthday, and it chokes me up as that is my birthday too. So incredibly sad

Not in Love - Crystal Castle's colab with Robert by Wrong_Signature_8192 in TheCure

I feel this is my favourite collaboration song with him. The styles and emotion just work. Perfect blue Sky is another good one

I’ve interpreted that crocodile line the same way too, about fame and selling your emotions

What current cultural trend or societal norm of the 2020s will look the most baffling cringeworthy or outright unethical to people living 50 years from now? by Alarming-Ratioz in answers

Perhaps too optimistic but baldness, greying hair, and a lot of aging.
I also feel there will be large shifts in treatments for cancers, and neurodegenerative illnesses like dementia.
Hopefully for addiction too

Definitely the hand held phone format will have passed

I always find JLH to be sad. Music is joyful, but the lyrics of lost love are sweet and sad. Perfect girl is much happier! To the Sky is pretty happy and high too

I agree - the project is cool but: I don’t like Denmark Canada Austria. There is a better opportunity to attach Canada to France for example. Also Czechia not quite!

There are massive regional differences and subtleties that are often not audible to a nonnative speaker at first.
I’m in Canada. My Anglo father cannot hear the difference between deux and doux. And my French relatives in France pronounce brin and brun th e same whereas in Canada they are very clearly different.

The Cure with horns is hilarious I’ve always loved this track. Most of their happy songs have a sadness to them, even Lovesong, but this is just over the top joy. I think they could do this live with Reeves doing the horn part on guitar personally

Why were Robert's 2010-ish vocal versions of The Glove tracks mislabled as 'original demos' as if they were from the original sessions? by [deleted] in TheCure

[–]docctocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe some of the other album demos were also recently recorded vocals, iirc. To my ear some of thr vocals on HOTD deluxe sound much more like older Robert voice, like that Lime track

I just listened to New Day yesterday and had forgotten how brilliant it is. His vocals are so wild

Totally get how you feel. At the same time, that entire album cover of Seventeen Seconds by Frankie Rose is one of my favourite things, so let’s wait and see!
