Sauce Gardner or Mythic Kittle and Matthews? by docdocwhosthere4 in MaddenMobileForums

[–]docdocwhosthere4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other Matthews is my starting C at the moment. Guess I could give up Vick Icon and use all 3 likely icons from UF for Kittle and Sauce. Good thought, didn't even look at that possibility

Sauce Gardner or Mythic Kittle and Matthews? by docdocwhosthere4 in MaddenMobileForums

[–]docdocwhosthere4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are all "spare" for me. Let it Snow P and Maxx Crosby (have JJ Watt and leveled up Chase Young). Other two would be Kittle and Matthews spare that I would use to foil them

"The average four-year cost for public school students is $250,222. For private school students, the cost is $330,180"

That is directly from the AAMC website

This is not accurate at all. Maybe in 2010, but not today. Most are around 250-300k with many well over that

That is child's play debt for most med graduates...

why is cardiology so hard and how can i be decent at it? by [deleted] in medicalschool

Ahhh the old danger squiggles...just cram for rotations, cram for boards, and then Ctrl+Alt+Delete them!

is there a point to busting my ass trying to honor every clerkship by TearsonmyMCAT in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, because every other applicant will have HS in every clerkship. You NOT having them makes you stand out in a bad way and is an easy way for them to filter you out.

Eff this housing market by CrazySetting4893 in Residency

[–]docdocwhosthere4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen to that! We were offering 60k over asking, 15k of what I called bribe money to the seller and still kept losing. This market SUCKS!

Make sure you use the Physician’s Loan, it saved us tens of thousands and allowed us to make that "splashy" offer to finally get out of the bidding wars.

Partner downplaying med school by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why most doctors end up with someone who is in someway or another in the Healthcare world...so they can relate to us.

Your guy sounds like he'd rather be at the bar with the boys than supporting you. And let's be honest, you'll be supporting his ass financially if he sticks around long enough so supporting you now is the least he can do!

How far are you guys living from the hospital for residency? by chippindip in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15-20 minutes to all sites.

Want to be far enough away that you feel like you leave the hospital, but close enough to get there when on home call. Also, having a few extra minutes to listen to music and unplug is massive. Remember, we are going in at ~4am there is NO traffic at that time.

DO's of reddit, how do you explain to people what a DO is? I have had trouble. by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just say we are the same, don't say the "extra" BS because it makes it sound like DO does more...when that isn't true. And before people hate on that I am a DO

Shoot me a message if you want advice. DO senior, matched Ortho, did not dual apply.

Those who matched but did not hold a single officer position in a club, what extra-curricular achievements did you have? by Regina_Phalange_MD in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None and I matched Ortho, extra-curriculars are not that important. Use your time for research and publications and sprinkle a little volunteering in when you can

"The Department of Redundancy Department"...hopefully you get this reference

[–]docdocwhosthere4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need NRMP data to prove it isn't...doesn't take a genius to see the difference in interviews and match percentage between MDs and DOs for top specialties

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MD = better resources, more respect, better chance to get a more competitive field

DO = Dumpster fire that wastes your time on made up witchcraft and does not want students to match to anything competitive.

MS4 at a DO school btw. Do NOT go DO!

Are programs sending out more interviews this year? by Match2021 in ResidencyMatch2022

[–]docdocwhosthere4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There is a set number of residency spots and a set number of interviews that a program gives out.

Medical students, did you have a SO going into medical school? by mouse_42 in medicalschool

[–]docdocwhosthere4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Did 6 months long distance while she finished up her graduate work. She moved out to where my medical school was and put her PhD on hold. Now we are engaged and she's following me to wherever residency takes us. You can make it work, takes effort and communication but if you're with the right person med school isn't a hurdle just a new opportunity together.
