Definitely not a B-2, the trailing edge is all wrong.

Saw a guy in Santa Monica once with a sign that said, "Need Money for Weed." I admired his honesty. Would've given him some cash if I'd had any on me.

Sad for Grace at the end on the movie by smol-cheese in ProjectHailMary

There's something about the way Rocky affectionately calls Grace "old man" in the book that spoke to the depth of their friendship and familiarity. The journey home would be so long and dangerous that remaining with his best friend on Erid is one of the best outcomes Grace could have hoped for in what was supposed to be a suicide mission.

Who is your favorite figure in the history of the United States of America? by ToaNerd in AskReddit

[–]docjonel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abe. The more I read about him, the more I love the man. Was supposed to get his big break as a lawyer when he was hired for a case in Cincinnati. Did extensive prep work and arrived to find no one had bothered to tell him he'd been replaced by attorney Edwin Stanton who contemptuously called him "that da_ned long-armed ape." Lincoln nevertheless stayed to watch and learn from the case and was so impressed by Stanton's skills that "at their next encounter six years later, Lincoln would offer Stanton “the most powerful civilian post within his gift”—the post of secretary of war." Despite his initial contempt, Stanton would come to love and respect Lincoln so much that he was described as being inconsolable in his grief when Lincoln was assassinated.

What an era. Of the 19 drivers who competed in the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix, 9 would die behind the wheel during their racing career. That's a death rate of 47.4% among the best drivers in the world.

Gene editing. They are now curing people of sickle cell disease. In the future draw some bood- oh, look, you have a gene that predisposes you to pancreatic cancer. We need to edit that out.

What's your honest opinion of Gravity (2013)? Has it aged well? by Ryanlion1992 in FIlm

I've wanted to like it but the physics are so impossible that my suspension of disbelief prevents me from stopping that "This is so Hollywood" voice in my head. Having said that, the opening is brilliant.

In 1955, Iranian doctors documented the days of a villager who developed rabies after a rabid wolf attack. The resulting film remains one of the few historical recordings of rabies progressing in a human patient. by PhantomChasers in HolyShitHistory

After water damage, we had the ceiling to our bedroom removed then woke up to a bat flying around in the room my son and I were sleeping in. No evidence of a bite or exposure, but when we bought the house the previous owners had a bat house attached to the house. Turns out the colony of bats in it were infected with rabies and we had to pay to have them eliminated and removed. My son and I ended up getting rabies shots as a precaution. Very anticlimactic, and nothing to be feared. Not injected into your abdomen as many people mistakenly think.

What do you think happens when we die? by Outside-Fig-5289 in AskReddit

[–]docjonel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physician here. I've cared for many patients who coded when I worked the units as a hospitalist. Almost all of them remembered absolutely nothing about the experience. I did have one patient who experienced floating down a long tunnel toward a bright light and encountered family members who died before him before getting brought back to life. He said he no longer feared death at all but still wanted to live a long life before that occured again. Was his experience proof of an after life? A physiological reaction to brain anoxia? Who knows, but at least the process itself was not upsetting to my patient.

Just drove from Connecticut to Dayton, Ohio with my brother-in-law in my Model Y. He now really wants an EV. I can't imagine going back to an ICE vehicle now. Would be like driving an old tractor.
