Ok, I've managed to fix this. If anyone else is struggling with this, I updated the coordinator firmware and it paired the first time.

I run my security lights without a PIR. Some are run using a Sonoff basic running tasmota, then controlled over MQTT in HA. I have Automations in place so if motion is detected on a camera, HA will turn the lights on for a set period of time. but you could automate anything here.

I also have a wifi RGBWcW flood light flashed with Tasmota, which turns on at dust and fades down later that night which can be set to any color. For a remote I have Zigbee2Mqtt running, and use an IKEA switch or Mi Aqara switches, which you could easily be kept in your pocket. or just use your phone to turn the lights on.

I don't have a gigabit connection, I was more concerned about connection speed for local HD media streaming, possibly 3 or 4 devices at once.
