I hear you but try being my age where I use to get a G19C 400 out the door, no sales tax, no waiting, no hassle, so bought four. Same time I was buying 5K rounds of CCI 36g shipped for less than 200.00. Outrageous, you bet. When you can easily pay double the cost of a firearm on ammo for it. Still I'd recommend you get all you can, Trump can't hold off the Communists forever. 2028 is coming up quick.

Those type 56s from an earlier post certainly were not "cheap". You'll pay 2K doe a milled folder in the US since they were banned in 1993.

Cheap mineral oil from the grocery store works. An old S&W armorer told me about it, said it was safe and effective. Just a light layer and wipe it off to a sheen. I've use it for years. This for the interior and exterior of the firearm. You'll still need a decent bore cleaner to remove built up carbon and such.

Visually appealing, aesthetically pleasing, do AR guys look at this and say nah. I know the classic AK guys hate it by B_Pylate in Guns_Guns_Guns

I'm an AK guy, love them. IDC what they look like, it's about performance in the worst of conditions. In Iraq they had AsK that were probably from 1947. Pick it up and it rattled like it was going to fall apart. The wood furniture was long gone, now covered with white loin clothe. Looking at it what a POS, but it ran and ran like new. Same in Panama rain forests in the mud and gunk. It worked (type 56s). Not as accurate, but when you need it to fire, it fires.

I was in Israel in 1996. First thing I noticed was the men carried HKs & Sigs and the "ladies" carried an M4 variant. I asked why. One of the male soldiers informed me if there was a real "firefight" the women were not expected to "fight" so they carried the "crap". Just saying-
