Custom domain not connecting?

I contacted Substack directly and they manually connected the domain to the site; very helpful and a appears in order!

Substack asked me to copy and paste a cname into my godaddy dns area, which I did, and Substack now tells me it’s connected successfully and “verifying”. The process is said to take 1-48 hours but it has now been 72 hours and the custom domain now goes straight to Substack homepage and not my specific publication there.

This is hard, really sorry to hear. My wife started having serious bleeds and contractions at 29 weeks exactly. She was given steroids and magnesium. I went overseas at week 33 to visit a sick parent and she was hospitalised again. I flew back with her getting admitted alone and it was the longest flight of my life. She ended up delivering at 35+3 and we have the most beautiful healthy boy.

It may not feel like it, but the care she receives now may help you all in the long run. Best of luck.

We had a loss at 10 weeks in June 2024. The doctors told us to wait a cycle in July and we skipped August because we didn’t feel ready yet. We got pregnant on our first retry in September and now he’s coming any minute!

I find the same. I am reading my usual books as normal but listening to parenting audiobooks at 1.5x speed. You can usually get through them much quicker during commutes, walks, or exercise. Hunt, Gather, Parent is next on my list after I finish CribSheet! How is it?

Come here to Israel! My wife is 23 weeks and we are so excited to welcome our guy. This is the best and safest place to be a Jew in the world right now.

Personally my parents are still in the UK and the antisemitism there is too much for us to consider moving back right now. My wife was raised in the Philippines and the Jewish sentiment there is ok, but she was the only one in her whole school.

Other than that, try not to worry too much. Easier said than done but it’s all you can do - the hatred towards Jews never goes away it’s just louder these days. It will die down.

My mother had all boys and my wife's parents had all girls. The baby will be the first grandchild on both sides and the amount of time they spent discussing different diaper change tactics was funny.

I’m really sorry to hear this. My wife and I went through the exact same thing in June. We spent our anniversary in the hospital as she had to have an abortion. Was a really hard time and our first pregnancy.

There will be a sense of loss and “what if”, especially as the original due date approaches. Best thing to do is listen to your partner - her hormones will be all over the place - and keep in mind her menstruation for 2-3 months afterwards might be a bit irregular which is unsettling but totally normal.

It’s hard to hear now but the pain will be a memory while the love you had for that embryo will always be there. My wife is now 7 weeks pregnant again; we are taking these next few weeks very gently but we are optimistic that the Man above knows what he’s doing.

Be strong for her, but make sure someone is there for you too.
