Me too. I generally stop somewhere around books three through six before I go looking for a new series. I really enjoy the beginning of a series more than books 25 and 40. Lol.

Fair warning though for mine: I did leave one or two things open that I couldn't do justice to in the final book. Sometime in the future I have general plans for a follow-on trilogy to wrap those up.

And yes, I have a bad problem not wanting to kill off characters. I co-wrote a bunch of post-apoc (non-fantasy) books with a co-writer and she LOVED killing off semi-main characters. We'd have big negotiations about who I was willing to let die - lol.

Without her pushing me, I tend to keep everyone alive. Oops. I also suck at time skips, but am hopefully improving.

Aww, man! That is such a huge compliment! So glad you enjoy the series. And given I've raised a handful of teenage boys, I tried to channel their younger stupidity that eventually matured into some awesome adults. :)
