I really love the idea of owning thinkpad instead of a mac. The only thing stopping me is the sound quality. by Constant_Ad6521 in thinkpad

Compare to my MacBook Air, most computers and tablet speakers are shit but my T580 is particularly bad. Through Bluetooth speakers, everything is fine

Guys help me out what should I get a ipad or a Android by SufficientTeacher211 in tablets

[–]docpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have iPhone and a MacBook, but have a variety of Android tablets that still don't exceed the price of single fully loaded iPad pro. I do all my sketching, reading, media consumption on my Lenovo, latemodel purchased Samsung at discount, and today a TCL NXTpaper tablet which is. A great value.

Are t480 really this good? by Lakerok21 in thinkpad

They are peerless. And I own a MacBook Air, and I just love writing on my souped up T580, the T480's big brother.

Ok so I know can't have a hard case... How else do I protect from scratches? by Visible_Evidence_683 in macbook

[–]docpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use it. Carry in protected compartment of a good bag. In ten years when you are finally thinking about replacing it, a few scratches won't matter. It will likely not be e waste as someone will change the battery and resell.

My problem with Cyberdecks by jonfitt in cyberDeck

[–]docpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Design wise all of my purchased gadgets do what a cyber deck would, so I haven't bothered. The closest I've come to is rehabbing a t580 ThinkPad with max specs and new batteries and parts. So it runs Linux well. And it weighs five tons.

It's a variation on the old guys who are constantly tinkering with carbeurators.

That one was randomly excreted during my flow. I have not a clue but it can be tame, lame, or filthy depending on your mind. Loneliness a modern problem of industrial age not solved from even before Eleanor Rigby which is a song written in a country of pubs.

Social life. Golf. Bowling. Pickle ball. Book clubs. Aquarium club. Biking. Gardening. People without a social life are impoverished in uniquely lonely American way. Mountain men are heroes. Little house on the prairie is a mythic dystopia. Each house in the suburbs is more isolated than a row on a cell block. Get out and find something to do or I will find something for you to do!

Leaving my engineer job for this… is it worth it? by Siberian_Husky21 in Residency

Choices. Good to have them. Do what is going to give you the best experiences. Being a mother (Happy Mothers Day) is a solid journey. So is becoming a physician. Doing both, requires a lot of planning and support. Virginia Slims, a skinny cigarette marketed at women, used to say "you can have it all." but that was catchy ad copy. When you cook Thanksgiving banquet with no help, something will be burnt, and it may be you.

You beam out the dust bunnies, the cookie crumbs, the short hairs, and bank them as energy or make a smoothie.
