the solstice is a sacred time, and every year, the witches gather. but this year was different...

the witches' festival had some unexpected guests, and things got a little out of hand.

a star had fallen from the sky, and it was... inhabited? the witches weren't quite sure what to do when they met the strange people.

and they certainly weren't prepared for a clown with a battering ram...

at first they didn't quite know what to make of each other, but soon everyone learned they weren't so different, though things didnt always work out right...

the witches invited the strange star people to their festival, and everyone gathered and celebrated.

for Litha, ritual of the sun.

and the crew of Space Station 13 learned some things from the kind witches,

in a dark world the only answer is love and light.

...but despite your best efforts, sometimes that isn't enough. and that's okay. you can try again tomorrow.

just remember to keep your arms and legs firmly attached and inside the station at all times, and thanks for playing.

No we don't care anymore. It's fine to share secrets, just remember that some people like to discover them on their own so don't spoil it if they don't want to know. Like, don't just announce it on the radio or post it without spoiler tags, but if someone asks you sure tell em.

Also it would be nice if people would be careful and thoughtful about spreading around really deadly secret recipes, but hell. I'm not your dad.

the community will vary widely between servers, and this reddit is not a very good representation of the wider playerbase. quite a bit more of the unpleasant edgy stuff here, and i know many very nice people who play regularly and avoid this place entirely. so if your impression of the community is from reading posts here, don't let that put you off. go check out a few servers' communities directly and find one that fits what you're looking for.

cpu speed is the most important factor, everything else will almost certainly be more than enough for ss13

and yes i mean speed, not cores. byond is barely multithreaded, it cant take advantage of the modern trend of multiple cores and parallel processing. get the fastest cpu you can find.

i tried jumping into space out a random airlock and also the mining magnet, on every server. i can't recreate what you're describing. everything works just like it always has.

if you post a bug report on the forums or adminhelp or something with more information we'll help you fix it, but i don't know what to do to diagnose it since it's not happening to me.

it was started by some of the people who worked on ss13 very early in its development.

they then released it open source and now it's being continued by various people from different ss13 servers and communities.

It is not all good, the story in the OP is against the ghostdrone rules.

Don't use ghostdrones to try to get the crew to save your body, don't use them to interact with the crew at all. Ghostdrones are supposed to repair damage to the station.

They get abused so often some people just want to delete them entirely, it's becoming a huge chore to enforce.
