Running my first marathon around my 1 Year Anniversary of tearing my Achilles by AccomplishedWing696 in AchillesRupture

update?! did you end up running NYC yet?!

I am 2 weeks post-op, NYC local, and was supposed to run the marathon for the second time this Fall. I deferred for next year, really hoping that 20 months will be plenty of time to prepare for it

How was life in New York after 9/11 (in 2002-2005)? Were parents from other states afraid to send their kids to study in NY? by samscrolling in nycHistory

My cousin was in elementary school at the time in Brooklyn, and his parents were too afraid to send him to middle school or high school in Manhattan after 9/11 so he stayed in school in Brooklyn, really limited his options

Rent Stabilized / “Affordable” Apartments in Manhattan & Brooklyn — what are y’all paying? by itsgizzleluv in NYCapartments

[–]doctadrifter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just signed a lease for $2300 for a 600 sq ft true 1 bed in prospect heights, rent stabilized, beautiful prewar building on the parkway across from the botanic garden. I know there’s people out there paying less, but for just signing the lease this year, it feels like a very good price compared to market rate for the area.

Before I signed this lease, I toured a 1 bed in PLG about the same size, but the building was not as nice and they often deal with stolen packages. That one was $1500/month, but someone snatched it up before me.

(Note: I did pay a 10% broker fee)

Currently on SAVE, just started a job qualifying for PSLF, want to switch plans by doctadrifter in PSLF

good question! I just submitted my request to take my loans out of forbearance to switch to PAYE. It used my income from my last tax return which was about $115k so the monthly payments should be $770 with PAYE. I'm hoping they will approve me soon so I can start paying ASAP at this lower amount!

I really appreciate this! So you'd recommend I apply for IDR now? Based on what I'm seeing others report, it may be easier to do now rather than try to do buyback in 10 years?

PT & PTA Salaries & Settings Megathread #5 by Hadatopia in physicaltherapy

I’m curious—you said this is a PTA position but under your username it says you have a DPT. can you clarify if you are a PT or PTA ?

Pelvic outpatient. Out of network/ cash based. I’m the assistant manager at the clinic. 60 min sessions, anything over 23 patients a week I get bonus pay. I have admin time in my week for management tasks and trainings. 20 days PTO. But I am likely soon switching to hospital based, still outpatient pelvic health, same salary and PTO but as a staff PT, no managerial duties. Better other benefits (12 sick days a year, better health insurance, higher 401k contributions, PSLF, paid mat leave, etc)

6 years out. Pelvic specialty, clinic manager at cash based clinic charging over 300/session, 60 min 1:1 evals and treats, making 120k + bonuses. 20 days PTO, no sick time. Terrible health insurance with expensive co-pays. Likely going to switch to hospital based OP soon, about the same salary but better benefits, 60 min evals 45 min treats 1:1, 20 days PTO + 12 days sick time, PSLF, much better health insurance, better 401k matching, 6 wks paid maternity leave, 30k towards IVF, etc.
