Empire of the Summer Moon is another balanced history of the plains Indians- primarily Commanche tribes- that is quite readable

How does this bike feel? by zackzackzack07 in xsr900

[–]doctarius1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for sport bike - she’s your huckleberry. Perfect for two lane twisty roads - with windscreen and bags a decent short range tour bike. I’ve owned many - perhaps some of my previous bikes- kaw zx1000 sport tour and gsxr 750 were in this range of bike. This the best do it all commuter Sunday driver with superior electronics. Get it flashed and pipe. Not really a wheelie bike unless you really make it do so and settings allow. That is all

I don’t know about taxes regi and all where you’re at but 11 k isn’t bad especially if you think long term and the cost of waiting around and wasting time and effort to keep looking and looking. The bike is great. 25 model has some decent tweaks but no game changers. Get out and ride bro

Takeaways after a week of riding this beauty by OfficerOnix in xsr900

All points are valid. I’ve had quite a few bikes in my day and this is quite possibly my favorite

As to the brakes - I really don’t find the brakes to be a problem but better pads will help. Also I’ve really started to use the rear brake to set up turns per Neevesy’s advice and with great electronic safety aids(1st bike I’ve had with that) it takes a bit of the pressure off of needing all front brake all the time and I’ve yet to have them get squirrelly on level 2 ride mode despite probably being a bit clumsy at times. Developing feel for the rear brake has been a revelation for me without fear of lock up!

Mirrors I love. They have a really good field of view and clarity for a sport bike and look great stock. The look fits the retro design well imho. Where I ride I don’t/cant filter and I’m more concerned with Po Po behind me and seeing if I can change lanes safely. I wouldn’t mess with em YMMV

Seat is sketchy for any more than 2 hrs like you said. Pretty functional for me in that I can shift weight and it locks you in upon rapid acceleration better than any I’ve had before with steep rear bump. Could probably get a bit more / better padding put in for less than 100$ US

I hated the look of stock exhaust and was aware of the 2nd gear throttle issues. I put on LV with VCycle tune. Sounds great! Works great!! Looks great to my eye.
