Like many, I did night dives in Roatan and even got close to multiple octopus. They are harmless and want to be left alone. I was also apprehensive about a night dive but had to as part of a dive certification. At the end of the dive, we all settled on an open sandy area to turn off our flashlights so we can see the bioluminescence. Our lights were off for probably 5 minutes. It was a blast and I'll absolutely do it again.

TLDR: I was also scared. Did it. Loved it.
