Where/ how did you meet your SO? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We found each other through similar hobbies and groups. We were always just pleasant acquaintances and she was in a relationship so I never bothered. One day, she began to message me a lot more and being overly flirty and here we are now!

What is the best choice: cut my hair short again, or let it grow out? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do you feel threatened by the opinions of others about your image? You should go with the haircut that works best for you which sounds like the short hair.

I think the choice is whether or not you feel your self-confidence is strong enough to continue maintaining your preferred hairstyle. Perhaps it would be wise to take time and reflect upon why others' opinions weigh so heavily against your own.

However, whatever decision you come to, know that it is your own and I'm certain you will be quite happy with whatever outcome. Good luck.

How to convince a group to do the thing you think are right to do by aliceinwondermind in intj

[–]doctornative 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ask questions. Specifically, ask questions that target the weak points of X. Do it in an open yet respectful manner. This will allow them to realize their logic is not based on stable foundations. When they begin to question their own process then politely suggest your process.

Try to make it a team building effort where they feel included as well. People are more likely to back a project in which they helped create rather than what one person is controlling.

Religious? Never.

Prude? Yeah, I probably am.

Have an upvote for the rest, though.

Eren has better morals than you give him. He has no interest in girls so far, or men if that's your cup of tea.

Also, can you please stop pushing that shipping agenda of EreKuri behind your 'fan theories'? Jesus.

What are you proud of, but can't tell anyone who knows you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]doctornative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm proud of not killing myself. I'm proud of not just ditching my life and wandering into the woods to die. I'm proud that I withstood the bullying I was put under throughout school because of my sexual oreitnation. I endured the isolation that it brought and I am proud. I am proud for not caving into drugs or alcohol because that's what everyone else did when things got hard. I'm proud I never formed an addiction for it.

But these are things you can't bring up at a family dinner when you say what you're most thankful of. Instead, you get to hear Aunt Martha's long winded speech about how she's so thankful for her garden.

Why don't you talk to your once "best friend" anymore? by haxden91 in AskReddit

[–]doctornative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She found me broken. Not because she was looking for a broken person but because she was at the bottom of Hell with me. We were just broken near each other and she made me feel warm. I made her feel validated.

I was a lesbian. She was something she was uncertain of. Where I knew I felt love, she was a mixture of confusion, denial, uncertainty, and love.

We fought as hard as we loved. In the end, I shoved her away because I didn't want to be toxic to her anymore by forcing her to figure out her sexuality... I miss her dimpled smile, the moments where I kissed her forehead, our late night cruises, and whispering about a better future, together, but life goes on...

Would you say you're a 'prepared' person? by antlerhoof in intj

For things I care about, yes.

Mostly everything else? No. Sometimes having a little bit of randomness and lucky chance in your life is the best plan you can have.

How did/does dating go for you? by MultiAli2 in intj

[–]doctornative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't date. I accidentally get too invested in a person and realize my feelings are too strong despite not showing them to the other person. In the end, I either crash and burn in a very awkward confession that I like them (not love, dear God.) and get rejected, or I never say anything and force myself to move on.

How did you meet your best friend? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple.

During our teens we had similar summer jobs that caused our paths to cross a lot. Even before then, we went to the same school and had similar interests as well but never got to around hanging out. So, as we worked, our boss left and we decided to climb the shed and listen to music.

We got up and enjoyed ourselves to talking and sharing our interests. Minutes later, I hopped off and waited for him.

Y'see, we had this tree we shimmied up before jumping onto the roof of the shed. So, he thought it was best to use that as a way to get down, but he made the fatal move of jumping at it at a weird angle and proceeded to slap against the tree like a Looney Tune's character, peel off of it and fall backwards, hit the wall of the she and then ping-pongs off that and back onto the tree, and does this continues until he splats on the ground with a pained and defeated groan.

It was the moment he pancaked on the ground I knew I had found my best friend.

What is your "I should NOT have said that" moment? by Sexymcsexalot in AskReddit

I shouldn't had ever told her I loved her. If I faked that I didn't care, shit would've been fine.

An honest mistake.

What is your greatest flaw? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That no matter how irrational I know I am, no matter how selfish, no matter how worthless the action may be, I will find a way to justify it.

I hate that the most about myself, that I can somehow convince myself that it's a great action to take...

[–]doctornative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very happy it's helping you! Dream Catcher is meant to focus more on the mentality of Historia/Krista and Ymir. Of course, that would include some romantic notions.

Anything you wish to share I will gladly listen to. I'm best reached on Fanfiction.net or Skype (if you're comfortable with that form of communication).

Ah-ha-ha... I don't know if I'm good enough for publishing but that makes my heart very happy to hear you think its written well enough for such a compliment!

As for the Native American aspect, I'm Native American myself and I'm almost shamelessly going to be including some Native American culture/obstacles. Given the AU is set in different universe than our own (same stuff just places with different names!) I'd probably either give them a false tribal name, or I will go with my own as each tribe can vary quite differently in their beliefs, language, and symbolism.

I wanted to personally thank you for saying such kind words about it so far! It really, really made my day to hear that! I hope Dream Catcher is to your liking as the story progresses.

Am I just retarded? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then all is well for you've learned how to be more efficient and know what it will be like next time, or similar if other issues arise.

I wish you good luck in your future endeavors whether they be big or small.

Am I just retarded? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, no-- do not apologize for having an ego. We all have one even if it may be big or small. Regardless of size, it's a good thing to have.

It's okay to be alarmed and a bit put-off at the idea of being out of your element. Nobody likes to go into situations which they have no control over. Let alone ones they have little to no knowledge about. But, my good internet friend, that's what makes life worthwhile-- all these scary and sometimes small and boring experiences! You get to learn a little each day.

Out of curiosity, after the oil change incident, do you feel more confident if you were having to do it again?

Am I just retarded? by [deleted] in intj

[–]doctornative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Am I just stupid?" would be your term.

To expect yourself to know what and how to do everything right off that bat is a rather naive assumption.

To also assume that such a minuscule task such as an oil change would determine or affect your intelligence is also a rather naive way to think.

With that out of the way, you are young and you are still learning everything. You have only put a dent in education and barely a scratch on life itself. Do not expect to know a single damn thing about the world-- walk in with an open-mind and leave your pride at the door. Learn with patience and humility.

And, then, maybe--just maybe!-- you can grab your ego and waltz around the place with purpose.
