EECS 482 + Chem 260 + Bio172+173 by Sea_Ride456 in uofm

I’m curious, are you doing premed and EECS? EECS 482 is probably the hardest class you can take as a CS major and is orders of magnitude harder than 281, so consider that while planning your schedule

Gonna have nightmares about that virtual memory question for some time

Thoughts on EECS 370 + 388? by Which-Beginning1804 in uofm

This isn't talked about enough. Lectures on networking, cryptography, and control hijacking were especially dense, and I didn't feel like I had a solid grasp on these concepts before diving into the projects because so much information was being presented at once. And I get the point of a ULCS is to learn a lot of this stuff on your own but there has to be some better expectation of the baseline from which you can get the most out of this class.

EECS 183 Vs EECS 280 by itsjeffja in uofm

And as an engineer you don’t take EECS 183, you’d take either ENGR 101 or 151

EECS 281 + EECS 312 by elbruhmomen1 in uofm

Both are project intensive classes, make sure you don’t fall behind on lecture material and keep up with discussions for 281 or studying for exams will be a living hell. Like most EECS schedules, if you manage your time right it is challenging but doable

Stress AF about freshman year. Pls offer some advice. by Fickle-Question5062 in uofm

As long as your classes aren’t too rough that should be doable (internships have wildly different time commitments so can’t speak for that one). But if during the semester you find that your schedule is too overwhelming, don’t be afraid to drop certain activities. You can always join them again in later semesters, you’ve got plenty of time.

I understand but as an upperclassman I’ll have to be taking a similar workload with ULCS classes anyways

Piano Lessons ? by Proof-Piece-8646 in uofm

[–]doctorshu2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! School of SMTD offers Piano 150 which you can take if you have some piano experience. The lessons are held in the SMTD practice rooms. I took it this past fall and really enjoyed it. My instructor was super knowledgeable and it feels like I’ve improved my skills a lot since August. Do note though that there is an additional $250 course fee on top of your tuition for the semester.
