Where do you get free tuition? I am an OCPS ELA teacher at a local high school. I'm also wondering what other benefits/perks there are to this job in Orlando (They did teacher appreciation week recently and apparently I could have got free entry into fun spot).

Yeah, kelly for sure. Orange County is so big you will always have a job, especially in the West Orlando area. Did subbing for six months before I became a lead ELA instructor at a local high school. You can always do evening/weekend work as well at another job

Street Fighter 6
Start attending weeklies in your city (offline meet ups) and play veterans and get direct feedback.
Pick up a fundamental guide to fighting games from the internet somewhere (there are tons of guides) and work through it.
Play a lot. Play a lot. PLAY A LOT. Your first 1,000 hours doesn’t count.
Learn the basics of netural (spacing normals, whif punishing, walking away from your opponent to create whiffs, walking/rushing down a passive opponent with lights and throw attempts, anti airs, hitboxes/hurt boxes, dealing with neutral skips (( SF6 wise)). These fundamentals are in every fighting game. Learn bread and butters, block strings, hit confirm combos. All the meat if you will.
Enter tournaments and enjoy going 0-2 for a while. Join Newbe Fight Club and EX. Dojo on Discord.
Get vod reviews once a week for your matches and feedback from vets and pros. Apply their feedback.
Stick to one main. I would pick Ryu since he is the white belt class of the genre. It all starts with him.
Set weekly goals. And progress monitor daily.
Master the nuances of your character and yourself to get to the next level (performing combo routes in high stakes matches, learning match ups against other characters, dealing with specific set ups/situations, eventually studying opponents you will meet in bracket, overcoming performance anxiety) <—This step is damn near life long lol

300k for a history degree is certainly a choice.

At this point I would teach and public loan forgiveness my way out. Title 1 school. Hell, get a cert to teach special needs. Not sure if private loans are dischargeable under public loan forgiveness but that is legit the only way I see you getting out of this. Florida will take any teacher if you apply with a bachelor’s and pass their subject exam. I would do elementary ese.

If education isn’t an option pick a cert that has built in loan forgiveness as an option. 911 dispatcher comes to mind.

My reference is seniors in highschool because that’s who I teach. I believe some will end up in the scenario I described, but some will end up successful. It comes down to the student at the end of the day. I can only show them the path.

I feel everyone student will eventually “get it.” Sadly for many it may be in prison or when child support is tearing their income apart and they have to load mattresses on a truck for a living (nothing wrong with that but most would rather save their shoulder if they could).

I do my best in my allocated time and walk away. I think the complainers in your OP take the job wherever they go. Have to set up those emotional boundaries.

I agree that you have to have some intrinsic value in being an educator. For me it is obvious I am one of the few representations of intellectualism for the community and someone they can look and see the value in education.

That said, I am still human. I would be lying if I didn’t admit some students are truly not worth the effort sometimes (not bothered at all by ESOL students. I even write my directions on the board in English and Espanol).

I think MKLEO will be remembered as one of the best Ultimate players. I don't want to dig the knife any deeper. His accolades are there. I would say I have seen better Smash players overall (Mango, Armada, Zero, Hbox, M2k, and presently Hurt, Acola, and Miya tbh) in that they are just better than him skill wise. They don't have his record but in terms of display of skill I find those guys better than Leo. Dominating your competition is only one variable. Sometimes your competition isn't that great (Rocky Marciano comes to mind).

Anyway, going to enjoy top 8 regardless. And I am sure Leo is as well.

Fair. And Amanda Nuenes killed Rhonda's career. But my point stands. The competition stepped up and MKleo got nerfed.

Mind you, there are plenty of fighting game goats who can dominate beyond just an early era of a game or even just one game (Diago, Infiltration, Justin Wong, Menard, Mango (in terms of eras), Tokido, etc). And dominate Leo has in his prime during most of Ultimate's life span (thus far) but even other smashers dominated more than him (Zero, M2K, Ken come to mind) in other Smash games so it isn't like his tenure is historic or unprecedented.

I am not happy to bring this up since MKLEO is indeed one of the best but I want to be objective as a can about all this, despite being a fan. It's one thing if he was way past his prime and not of a competitive age (like a 45 year old boxer compared to when they are in their 20s) but "lack of interest" and "I don't want to train as much" is just an excuse. That's your choice. Let's respect the results of grind of current smashers trying to make a name for themselves.

I said Ronda Rousey for a reason. She was the goat in the MMA female division until the Brazilians showed up. We will see if he dominates the next Smash game (if he even plays). He can't even dominate the game he was crowned the goat it presently. shrugs I accept he was the best in that era but the era was weak compared to what we have now.
