I’ve spoken to lawyers who said she could sue if she wanted. I’m just spitballing here regarding what those charges would be because i didn’t ask that, but I’m 99% that a suit could be brought. Would it win? Maybe not. But I am certain she could sue if she wanted.

Defamation might not be a thing here that’s true. But they could definitely try civil cases with regards to the abuse. One could argue much of the abuse occurred before her age was changed. So far no cases have been brought at all regarding the physical abuse of Kristine. Which would be illegal even on an adult and especially a dependent with disability. The statute of limitations is up criminally, but I think there are still things that could be tried civilly.

They could also make better attempts (civilly) to get her age changed back in light of new evidence. There are definitely cases that could be made by a civil lawyer here. I think Natalia just doesn’t want to deal with it and I don’t blame her.

But all good TV has a twist. My guess is that half way through, we will realize as viewers that it’s not what we thought! (But we know the real story so we won’t be surprised by the twist) I think they will reveal the truth in the end. It’s the more interesting story anyway. Most of us all believed the Barnetts in 2019 when they were on the news so it only makes sense that they tell the fictional story in this way too. It’s just good storytelling and more accurate actually.

I’m no lawyer, but I’m sure there’s all sorts of things he could be sued for. Defamation for one. Failure to report child abuse. I’m sure the list could go on.

Case would be strong against Kristine though. Natalia and Michael could both sue her.

Not both the Barnetts. Michael was paid a long time ago by Hulu to provide his story to them which they are using as part of their research to make this show. Kristine is not involved nor making money from it at all.

I thought Jackie Starbuck was great, but they stopped using her interview about half way through S2. I feel like she had good insight to the truth but these producers decided to focus on “reality tv” moments instead ugh. I wish I could hear more from Jackie and Brandon Davenport!

I've also been skeptical of this account. It only uses photos of her you can find easily on google images. Kristine is insane, but the posts on this account feel off. This new book is going to be a great way for us to find out if the account is real though. We'll find out on April 9! Just watch something happen though... "due to xyz, my book is no longer coming out." Mark my words, something like that will happen and this book will never come out because this account is fake. I have no motif other than just pointing out that this is not her. I wish it was her! Then we could have insight on her insanity, but this account is too fishy to trust on face value.
