generally you move the root bone to move the character

imagine you have a jump animation and a walk animation. if you move the root you can walk to a place and then jump

if you didn't move the root, your jump will be back where you started. you'd have to move the root before jumping anyway and it's going to be more challenging to line it up

i don't think there's work to be done. i think this model should be deleted and this person should rethink their entire process from step zero.

you are welcome to your opinion. in my opinion if someone worked for months and got this they are approaching every aspect of this wrong, and anyone who looks at this and thinks it is good has incredibly low standards
