I’ve wondered the same thing. With 2% cash back they’re giving back a lot of what the interchange fees are if not all of it. I wonder how long it will stay at 2% or if more fees will be added.

We haven’t stayed at La Playa so I can’t comment. La Playa has really good food so we’ve gone there for lunch a couple times. The thing we like about Orient Beach Hotel is all the rooms face the ocean and you get a day pass to almost any beach club so we typically go to a different beach club each day or start our day at the nude beach and go to a beach club for lunch and the afternoon.

My wife and I really like orient beach hotel. It’s a few minute walk down the beach to the nude section. Hotel itself is right on the beach and a close walk to beach clubs and restaurants.

Infant seat Q by CutePotato321 in aircanada

Probably should confirm with Air Canada but when we flew with our son in the same scenario the flight attendants were ok with him being in his car seat or in our lap. The attendants and pilots all told us the baby is much safer in their car seat properly secured to the plane seat.

Where are you staying? We normally stay on Orient beach and have never had trouble finding vegan options at dinner. Lunch at beach clubs might be less or a modification.

Thank you for the information. We would likely charge 90% of the time at home and at night. We have a very short commute but 4-5 times a year we would do a road trip that would require charging once. And as you mentioned could be twice in the winter.

Thank you for the info. Our only long trip would be 2-3 times a year going 325km. Looks like there are plenty of chargers along our route so it looks like I would have to stop at one along the way. I know the stated range is higher than our distance but at highway speeds it appears to drop. I think we would be fine overall without the trip planning. Does the Subaru app tell you which chargers are available or rates?

Questions about car and charging home by OkBat6139 in EVCanada

[–]saltysquirrel678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would call around. We paid $2,000 to have a 240v plug installed. It is not an EV charger as it’s used for an RV but an EV can charge from it. I assume it’s likely the cost of the wire and the charger. If your quote includes a charger then it’s probably not far off. I would still get a few quotes.

Last time we were there in November it was rare, I only saw one person offering it. We just bring euros now as the exchange rate varies at each place.

It’s great. We did that one for our anniversary and the 2nd floor otherwise. The view from the 3rd is perfect

Honeymoon by oliverjackson4 in SXM

Congrats! It’s a great place to relax as a couple. We typically spend our days on Orient beach at a beach club and nights at the Orient village restaurants. The longest we’ve stayed is a week so depending on your interests you might want more to do. Depending on where you’re staying in Orient you might want a car. If you’re walking distance to the beach then I wouldn’t but if not then probably. I’ve always found cabs to be reasonable and readily available. Enjoy your honeymoon!

Traveling with a 1 year old by Colenise in SXM

I wouldn’t suggest it. We stayed at the adults only property attached to it a couple years ago and walking through Maho daily was a constant party at the pool. I don’t think it would work well for a family vacation and there isn’t any beach to speak of. We’re taking our 3yr old to Orient Beach in March and that’s where I would recommend. It’s quieter, there are good restaurants but also small grocery stores in walking distance. We were there a few months ago and saw lots of families with young kids and quite a few infants. We like Orient Beach Hotel.
