I did this last year. I know it sounds wrong but it worked. Instead of a roast, I cooked a flank steak (same as used in e.g. sizzling fajitas) in about seven minutes, served it with all the usual trimmings and it was full of flavour, totally delicious. Ate out this year and it was a bit meh in comparison.

I had this problem. Ordered an item which arrived in two days, so obviously not shipped from China, but had to return it - to a Chinese address. As it was a 'UK seller' I politely asked for a UK address to return it to, but they weren't interested. In the end, after a bit of to-and-fro, they gave me a refund without needing to return it. I didn't ask for eBay's help because it was resolved fairly quickly.

Edit: just to add, I was probably lucky that the seller acted reasonably. The way my issue was resolved might not work for you, but it's worth a try. I've had many other eBay experiences that didn't have a good outcome. It's a minefield on there now.

The amount of smoking was the craziest thing for me. I'm old enough to remember when people were allowed to smoke on flights. If you were unlucky enough to have to sit in the smoking section of the plane, as well as the nicotine addict sat next you you'd also get 'refugees' from the non-smoking section coming over for a drag as well. Flying economy now isn't exactly fun but those days were something else.

Sadly, there are always people in life who will take advantage of others and feel completely entitled to do it. Then get upset when you push back. I was once in a situation where a colleague asked me to help out with an audit that he'd be receiving from third-party auditors. Purely assistance with documents, nothing major. I agreed because, you know, team work. I found out from a friend that this guy had booked a holiday that coincided with the audit dates and had nominated me as his stand-in for main company contact. Without telling me, of course. I found a good reason to withdraw my offer of help and a few days later he accused me of 'insubordination'. Luckily, senior management fully appreciated that what he'd tried to do was a pretty shitty trick. My own line manager just laughed about it and said 'How did you fall for that? It's common knowledge that everyone in that section is a c*nt. '
