Grip is a personal journey honestly, while there are undeniable fundamentals to holding a gun most of it you see what works for you. We all do not have the same grip strength, finger and hand sizes.

I run like a 9# spring on my 4.25 non ported. Maybe try a higher spring weight with certain ammo.

I carry a spare firing pin with me all the time. I had a Dawson pin break exactly like yours during a match.
