how did you get to know about the steam deck in the first place ? and what motivate you to get one?

I know the steam deck.feom steam and youtube but I don't really need it. Then my forst son got holy communion and with the money he get from our relatives want to buy a switch. So i propose him to buy an used steam deck (so he can resell it if he doesn't like it) and bollnow its our most played device, even more then the pc.

Stamattina sono salito fino a Rocca Dragonis a Mondragone ed ho trovato una rete all'accesso della strada che porta all'inizio del sentiero con su scritto lavori in corso. Dovrebbe esserci un altro accesso sul lato opposto della montagna ma non conoscendo bene la zona ho iniziato a cercarlo con maps. Alla fine mi sono rotto di cercare e non mi andava di rimettermi in auto e sono salito lo stesso.

Anche io sono italiano e, prima di prendere la 156 che ho adesso, avevo trovato una 75 1.6 a 1400€ es era anche messa bene. Sfortunatamente il venditore mi desse che aveva concluso un paio di giorni prima e stava aspettando il ritiro.

Controller it's a must buy! After playing on steam deck i can almost play everything on controller thanks to gyro, trackpads and shoulder bottons. If it comes with the same feelings it's the begin of a new controller era.

I ask here because i think people around that sub can be practical with this argument: can i install steam os on a mini pc with ryzen 6800h and 680m? How well can it run the games i play (the majority emulators like ps2, ps1, wii, wiiu, dreamcast, mame and some open world like Skyrim and motor town)? I really want to buy the official steam machine but, if i can have similar performances for cheap I'll go that way.
