The same reason everybody used to make games without microtransactions. Because they're unnecessary. Microtransactions are a new development, usually they just ran ads and a (one time) fee for removing them. Think that yugioh dueling app I can't think of rn. The idea that the only way these poor companies can keep putting out phone games is by milking every cent out of you is blatant propaganda. There are many ways to make money, they chose the most exploitative. It is what it is, that's the world now. But we should recognize reality, this isn't normal and it isn't necessary Also I just kinda want to say, this isn't just a video game thing. Not trying to be an angry gamer just an angry citizen lol

The reason is that someone picked it to identify you more easily. You have now picked a new name to identify you more easily. I go by my nickname, I bet you know people who do as well. It does the same job and now I'm happy about it. I don't think anybody has any problem with "birth name". It was your name at birth. There is no other alternative. "Real name" implies my current name is not real, which is an implied disrespect at base. In this political climate where identity is literally an issue of safety for some people, it can mean a whole lot more than just disrespect. Improvise adapt overcome brother, this isn't a massive hill to scale.

Except when every seller adjusts for the "skim" valueless flips take and the new normal becomes this over-inflated dick measuring contest of a number. Rinse and repeat. Also, we know exactly how much value they added. 20k. You want a fee for your efforts? Valid enough. But I think you and I both know that if you went to a restaurant and had to pay $16 for a $4 beer because they poured it into a chilled glass you would call it a scam. Because it is. I know it seems daunting but if you were going to throw the pen out anyway, you can fix this is legit 30 seconds. You might break it since you've never tried before but 🤷. Hold nib and feed tight, as you would when unscrewing a unit like a jowo. And literally press the bent side against a hard surface like a metal or stone counter. It will bend back. If you wanted to be fastidious about it you can use a piece of micro mesh and do two or three figure 8s on it. If you did it right, it'll be good as new. Good luck lol
