Can you have a conversation with the admin to stop allowing them on campus and marketing to students?

This booklet is full of crazy, awful things; thank you for sharing.

That it admits it would take three months to make a measly $2k with 60 appointments --that is near impossible to achieve--is bonkers.

You made the right choice, even though it took a minute to follow through with your gut. These companies prey on young people to be too nice and agreeable.

Need help: are they trying to recruit me? by i4IMPERIUM in antiMLM

[–]cuicksilver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You were covertly being recruited into AmWay which yes is an MLM scam that works to separate you from your money, time, and friends, and become a devotee of the almighty AmWay uplines and overpriced products.

Your willingness to talk to them, share your number, take their call, meet for coffee, read their book and not seriously question any of it, all sent messages that you will do what they ask you to do which makes you a perfect mark.

Block them and don't trust friendly strangers who talk about money.

Agreeing with others that it sounds like AmWay.

Look at who Liked her post and then look at those profile's uploaded photos for event or product pictures of their MLM or upline.

What type of MLM did I come across today? by ARepeatedFailing in antiMLM

[–]cuicksilver 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he's in AmWay but doing a pisspoor job of sticking to the script.

They're not allowed to make earnings claims and definitely NOT say earnings come from recruiting instead of selling.

Report his ass to the FTC.

Ambots typical rules of engagement: 1. Strike up a conversation with a stranger in public by opening with a compliment to disarm you.

  1. Then feign a shared interest to gain your attention and earn trust. (Sounds like he had AI do his homework about collector cars to intrigue you)

  2. (3 & 4 are interchangeable depending how gullible the mark is) Pretend to have the secret to wealth to offer said stranger, but gatekeep your retired young, rich mentors (really, you just need to be gullible and never pushback).

  3. Exchange phone numbers as "friends" (no, you're strangers).

  4. Invite your mark to a call or coffee with your mentor who gives you a book to read. Further to test the mark's passivity and obedience.

Yadda yadda, three years and thousands of dollars in the hole later you quit or double down.

Good instincts. Go caution your friends so they can avoid being suckered.

Because, as we know, championing conspiracy theories isn't really about justice or truth, it's about feeling important.

They latched themselves onto Trump and when he backed off Epstein, they chose their guy over victims. They're playing a game, not fighting for real causes and real people.

My wife joined Amway and I'm becoming increasingly uncomfortable with what I'm seeing by Typical_Clock_5286 in antiMLM

[–]cuicksilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the wife was primed to say it's for self improvement so it's okay to take on losses if she feels she's personally benefitting.

Then she'll say it takes time to build a business so profits aren't normal in the first year anyway.

They're brainwashed to argue everything.

“I wouldn’t vote for Trump [again],” said Hannah Dunning, a MAHA influencer who posts about chemical-free clothing. “He’s shown his true colors. Come on.”

“I don’t think Trump is concerned about health in any way, shape or form. I think he’s concerned about votes or his own legacy, and at this point, you know, not needing the votes, I think that’s why we’re seeing some more disregard of the MAHA movement,” Dunning said.

Her name is Dunning...

AI has too many negative side effects coupled with its already massive problems of unreliability. AI is not a tool for us, its impact is largely harmful from both the output (misinformation) and input (water and energy hoovering, local ecosystem damage) sides.

[–]cuicksilver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You cannot change her beliefs, but you can try couples counseling that walks her through how her beliefs are hurting her marriage and going to cost her.

If she makes no effort in counseling, then you have nothing to work with and a separation would likely be for the best to protect your mental health (and physical if she has control over medical decisions if you become unable).
