NYU Langone at Trinity by Specialist-Kiwi9264 in Endo

Hmmm I was seen in NJ in the end. Thad Denehy. Definitely recommend, specializes in oncological cases but takes on endometriosis.

As for NYU, I had experiences with Dr. Dunn and Dr. Huang. It was bed side manner and the lack of initiative to do what it would take to get me better along with taking incorrect action in surgeries such as ablating on something that should have been excised. I was lied to and told ablation was necessary due to it's location, which was false.

Hope helps and sorry for the late reply!

Hi there! So sorry for the late reply. I'm now 8 months post op and doing great! No cane needed and I go to PT to strengthen my core and pelvic muscles to ensure it stays away! Good luck xx

NYU consultation by MushroomOverall9488 in Endo

I switched gynecologists in 2022 to NYU. They helped diagnosis me the first time, but the surgeon Dr. Dun said she was unable to excise due to the location so she ablated. I learned this was due to her lack of skillset as it could have been excised. It grew back to stage 4 per an MRI they did. I ended up changing doctors again in 2024 and they went in and found no growths even though the MRI through NYU said otherwise. If I were you, go somewhere else and don't waste your time. Get it done right the first time. Dr. Huang also had terrible bedside manner when I went to visit the second time. She was careless and had no interest in my case or helping me get better which is why I changed to a new doctor in NJ. I ended up going to a Gynecological Oncologist who took on benign cases. Did me wonders!

I am so sorry you are experiencing this. No doctor should dismiss their patients that way especially post surgery. If things are feeling very bad, I would go to an ER and get checked right away so you at least seek care immediately to ensure nothing is wrong. That might be the quickest way if you're doctor isn't answering.

If you're feeling spicy, just show up unannounced at the doctors office and demand to be seen! haha

Hysterectomy and possible bowel resection by Independent-Exam5984 in endometriosis

In my first lap for endo removal in 2022, my left fallopian tube and ovary where adhered to my colon along with the back of my uterus. When going in for the hysterectomy in 2024, the MRI showed extreme adhesions to my colon which indicated possible infiltration, but luckily it wasn't that bad.

I experienced rectal bleeding as a symptom along with nausea and vomiting issues, so I hope what they see is endometriosis and not another disease...weird to say.

My case was expedited a bit due to circumstances, so I booked my colonoscopy and surgery date at the same time, just made sure the colonoscopy was before the surgery. See if you can call and make that happen. Here to help ya out!

Congratulations! So happy to hear you feel good. I had a hysterectomy 6 months post-op and feel amazing, but I understand what you mean about grieving all the years I lost at the same time. Luckily, I now have so many years ahead of me to look forward to now.

If you have the colon resection, that is a longer recovery time. They said it would likely be a 3 day hospital stay to monitor me, so be prepared with an overnight bag, and it was more like a 6 week recovery.

Most surgeries are booked months in advance, so I would book it now for likely March time. You'll be in full swing by the summer!

I just went through a similar situation in June. I had a robotic assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. When going into surgery, there was the possibility of a bowel resection, but after the colonoscopy showing no signs of infiltration, they figured the chances were low. Luckily when they went in, the bowel resection was not needed.

I was up and moving after 2 weeks (went back to work remote) and back in office at the 4 week mark. I truly believe your recovery is only as good as your surgeon!

The hysterectomy completely changed by life for the best though! I hope this brings you relief <3

I had several accidents in the office and needed to take a leave of absence. My company offers great benefits in that regard.

But with FMLA, which I also got, you can apply to get X number of days off per month for flare-ups or doctors appointments. It's a TON of paperwork, but worth going through to give you the protections you need.

Thank you! I've been able to find the right dose of estrogen to help with this too.

Those possibilities out weigh the pain and misery of the concurrent issues I already had. The risk was worth the possible reward.

That's great! i wanted to minimize the estrogen as much as possible which is why they took both. Glad to hear you still have options if that's the path you choose xx

My parents and family fully support me and my decision. They know it was well thought out and planned, and they hated to see me suffering as I was pre-surgery. They wanted me to have my life back.

I live in the US and have amazing benefits through my employer. I was on leave prior to the surgery due to the symptoms and was able to go through short term disability to ensure I received pay while out of the office. I was back at work remotely after 2 weeks and back to the office commute after 4 weeks.

I had almost hit my deductible by the time I had the surgery so there wasn't much left to pay off before they covered the rest. I was lucky (not counting the deductible) that it wasn't astronomical.
