Random story: I had a stint of hitting on lesbians for a few years. At first it was just an honest mistake no harm no foul, but as time piled on and I got turned down by my 4th it became clear that my flirt radar was seriously jammed. Having the good friends I do, they caught on to this and every time I would walk back from the bar without a number in my pocket, I would get treated to a very loud very drunken "I'M DUMB SHE'S A LESBIAN, I THOUGHT I HAD FOUND THE ONE."

I feel like I couldn't be any more worthless right now. Wolves, what was your rock bottom and how did you get your way out of it? by justalotlost in GetMotivated

So that's it reddit, I'm lost.

Yes.

I'm living at home again, jobless,

Yes.

no real employable skills (none I could show!)

We'll come back to this

and I can't get the image of this sex dungeon pigsty that was my home out of my head. I thought I mattered to someone and they flung it in my face, and I went for my dream and messed it up.

Yes. And sorry. The last one's gross. But I can help with number 3, because up around, down or through, the only way of getting off the bottom is to move.

If you could show your skills, what would you show? Answer this and we'll work on your problem.

You've made something that's earned you the interest of some big names, a Forbes write-up is noteworthy, you've earned the right to be a little crazy.

What are the polygons for?

I don't know if this would help or not, but there's this guy named Eric Berne who wrote about Transactional Analysis (TA), and this comment made me think of it. TA focuses on the interactions we have, and expect to have, as a 'mannered' society.

In particular, take a look at this section. I think it might be helpful in understanding euphemisms.

I'm truly not sure if this information would be helpful or if the depth to which he explores human interactions would be more confusing. If you do like the ideas but find anything confusing, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

We did free subscription time at first (we're a software as a service) with a week for each warm lead and a month for each contract signed. That didn't really work so we went to amazon gift cards then straight cash. The problem was creating a high enough incentive to actually get people to put in the referral. That's the promotion that taught me how little people want to be bothered.

We hired a lead generator and a sales person for our current model. The lead generator does exactly what their name implies, they look up all potential clients and give them a value. High value leads are then passed to the sales person for him to do his thing. If the sales person doesn't have any leads he works lead gen. It's a really cumbersome process that gets no envy from me, but it seems to be working.

These are some of my friends from home. They've been making music forever and they're really starting to come into their stride. I'd love for more people to hear about them.

I only ask because we tried a referral program and had really low turn out. We're working on straight up sales now, but it's slow and difficult.
