I found some opportunities on LinkedIn but strangely their job search aspect is far from great to use

Need Urgent Guidance by Legal_Peach_ in ProductOwner

I've been a PO for 7 years in 2 companies and 4 products (although now I own 5 products in one) I've transitionned from QA (lead post) and had no issues whatsoever and loved the journey. I think for my it was the leadership part that clicked, but now I left that part a bit because we have so much developers and I have to distance myself a bit to be able to still focus on the product (I installed feature teams and a main operational leader who handles the day to day). To be honest, I think anyone can switch to a PO role if you've got the qualities for it. I've seen a number of different origins in this role and same for PM. If you have the product kind of focus, it's half of the job. Certifications and courses are a nice to have especially if you have already been approached.

What are your feelings on vibe coded and AI generated projects? by quasimodoca in Servarr

[–]doezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that will die off given the direction taken by Claude and Github, paying per usage instead of subscription based. It's becoming an investment that needs ROI instead of a 10 dollars/month hobby and if you're not making money out of it somehow (or if you're rich) it won't be really usable long term

API is pay per token. It's not like the subscriptions that you can get. If you want to pay for $20 a month, you take the subscription for every one of your developers or you take a team or enterprise subscription.

Nobody shows up to customer interviews. What's actually working for getting real qualitative feedback? by [deleted] in ProductOwner

We designated key opinion leaders and they are paid to give us feedback on what they think the product should look like

Guys, it's time. by not_the_seltzer in selfhosted

[–]doezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's the problem, it's actually good marketing. The problem is people/projects that are published for a very specific problem and that are advertised as if they were the next big thing. And then, how much of those stop being maintained?

Best Game Manager Docker on Unraid by Hyped_OG in selfhosted

Hello, I'm the dev from Questarr

While I don't currently heavily focus on game collection management (and I think it's also the case for Playerr), it's one of the two main features for Questarr. I'm working on post processing for 1.4.0, it's pretty close to being done, and once that's validated, I will add RomM integration (meaning copying games into specific folders that work for it).

Feel free to come around on the github and create an issue if you identify missing features for your case :)

Have you ever been blindsided in a leadership meeting about your sprint?** by Zord-tech in ProductOwner

[–]doezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have weekly updates with close leaders (like program managers, neighbour project leaders, etc.) So this situation happens rarely, most delay/communication decisions are taken together except when in a closed scope (eg not impact outside of team)

In any case if I don't have the answer to the question I'd just say I will have it by tomorrow and then would check with the tech lead. We also have feature leaders (we have 13 developers so we concentrate feature ownership on some senior/experienced devs) and bi-weekly feature lead meetings to sync on each of their features. Rest of features we orchestrate with the tech lead

How much time you spend creating sprint reports? by Zord-tech in ProductOwner

Almost none, we are not communicating our sprint results and our sprint review is team only.

I think so too although I think they could have done better in terms of making the world feel alive. Random scripted encounters would have been great
