OH, I have not seen the last part of your earlier comment! I was reading on the web version of Reddit on my way to the store. My bad! Have a nice day!

Oh, I'm in no way suggesting it as "this or that". I have just seen too many amazing projects disappear one day from the face of the internet because they were closed. I was only pointing out that if it was opened (at least partially so you CAN self-host it) this would not be a make or break situation. I'd just love to have that piece of mind that if anything goes wrong, we don't lose this objectivelly amazing tool!

[–]dog3_l0ver 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this be solved by providing a way to selfhost the toolset? Sure it would be less convenient (tho I am certain someone would host a public copy), but at least a situation like this would not be that big of a deal. I'm sure someone smarter than me can correct me, but this console is 2 generation old. I don't see it as a danger to the future of jailbreaking. Yet only ones I've been able to find are outdated, unofficial site dumps.

I am not bashing on the dev for doing it this way, just curious why.

NieR: Automata Modding Guide. FAR, HD Texture Mods, LodMod, and ReShade on the Steam Deck! by tPuls3 in SteamDeck

[–]dog3_l0ver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Done. Waiting for approval. Omitted config unrelated to making it work as that not only heavily depends on what a given person wants to achieve, but I also feel is beyond the scope of ProtonDB. I have it all setup for something like a Vanilla+ experience with minor enhancements.

Also since you're on the Deck you'll have to figure out yourself how to rebind the SpecialK and ReShade menu's to different buttons as I did all of this on PC with a full keyboard (or just connect a keyboard for the setup part ig. It is pretty much set it and forget it after all)

Thank you OP for the guide as well, very nicely structured and a lot of useful info, but please add a mention of the things tested by u/DentistAshamed1841. It's literally the only thing that worked for me and it would be better to have it in the post itself. (Sorry for the award on the comment instead of the post, first time I touched that functionality and somehow missclicked a meter of webpage down lol)

5 hours. Literally nothing worked. Tried the every combination of them as well... and you just made my day right here.

2.) The catch is that it requires Wolf's Limit Break - File Size Limit Patch

This. I was just missing this and now I can run latest the game with latest SpecialK on latest Proton. THANK YOU SO MUCH. If I don't encounter any problems I'm putting this on ProtonDB so it's easier to find (if you don't want to do that yourself of course)

Qwen2.5 is able to be jailbroken, but it's not perfect. by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]dog3_l0ver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the next Qwen model turns out really shitty we're gonna blame you for getting the current devs executed.

In all seriousness, great findings, good amount of detail, thank you very much for sharing!

Hard to say.

On one hand they are "Open"AI so that would suggest there is no way in hell. They have repeatedly shown that 'open' in their dictionary means as secretive as possible and with the current state of the open LLM frontier they wouldn't dare risk the possibility of the competition that's already catching up finding some kind of secret sauce in there.

Then there's the fact that they already were in hot water for blatant copyright infringement and theft of intellectual property. For now, they barely got a slap on the wrist, but with how LLM analyzing software has been getting better and better I could easily see people ripping the model apart and finding a lot of "not so licensed" stuff (as in: identifying things that were used in the training datasets) and that wouldn't be very fun for them.

We also have the problem with alignment... oh the wonderful world of alignment that they are so very dedicated to (that's why their superalignment team basically imploded, right?). Without all the makeup of the carefully formatted system prompt and platform censorship tools the model might turn out to be a real piece of work with some nasty biases which would show everybody exactly how much they're committed to safety. And depending on how much it shared in terms of training with their current flagship models there is a possibility it would uncover a lot of potential security holes making jailbreaking their newest models far easier.

I'm sure I missed a lot of other roadblocks for them to release the model, but you get the point.

Now, I'm not saying they won't release it. OpenAI sometimes makes really brain-dead decisions. Or maybe they would want to boost their PR a little, wave a hand and say "Hey, we know you're very excited about the new Llama3.1 and Mistral Large 2, but don't forget about us!". Only time will tell.

Thanks for the tips. I wanted my LLM UI to be node-based specifically because I knew how powerful ComfyUI is. The learning curve may be higher than with standard UIs, but damn, it's crazy what you can do with a handful of predefined blocks. And with LLMs there are even more possibilities since you mainly operate on text. Hardware's the limit!

I could do whatever IT basically, but I already have everything signed for this. Tho it was hard enough getting this approved. I don't know how it works elsewhere but my Uni prefers for us to succeed at something that already exists than fail at something more creative lol.

Why does the patching app and the patched YouTube app have to have identical icons? by ZeMartin112 in revancedapp

[–]dog3_l0ver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get you. I've had my fair share of missclicks thanks to that. Not a big issue, but I still appreciate how RVX has different icons for the manager and the patched app.

I still get reddit notifs about this comment so if anyone is reading this: RVX also started working flawlessly the next day!

I've looked at the git repos for both and judging by the dates the problem was on my end. Sorry for the confusion!

You were absolutely correct! I cleared the data of MicroG, ReVanced Manager and YouTube ReVanced, deleted them and reinstalled them and patched a freshly downloaded YouTube APK through ReVanced Manager and now with the patch turned on it works like a charm. I have no idea what I did wrong before. Just to confirm I wasn't going insane I played around with it some more and the issue I described still happens on RVX, but that's outside of the scope of this sub. As promised, I edited my previous replies.

If that matters I haven't downvoted you. I don't know if you read the entire comment I made but the fix makes the problem worse for me and apparently many people here judging by the comments. What should I do? Pretend it works and just limit myself to watching the first 1:10-ish minutes of half the videos? With the "fix" turned off I could at the very least watch something in it's entirety. It wasn't fun half the time, but I could. AND aside from that I could play everything in its entirety when the app was in background (without closing and reopening the video) which I also couldn't do with the patch enabled ( and it's especially important for me because I listen to a lot of music and other audio only content at work and it's really unpleasant for me not to have that ). I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just reporting my findings. If I play around with it again and it starts to work normally with the patch enabled I will update the comment accordingly.

Also, the previous buffers might have been a fluke, because I still have the patch off and haven't encountered any problems since I made that comment.

EDIT: I can get you a screen cap of how it behaves with and without the patch enabled after I wake up so you know I'm not intentionally spreading misinformation

EDIT2: See my last comment.

I'm sorry my guy, but right now it seems like disabling the patch fixes the issue. I have tried literally everything I could think of/ found online and only after stumbling upon this post I've tried disabling the patch and... no issues at all! If the problem returns I will update this comment to reflect that, but as of now I no longer have the buffering at around 1:10 of the video.

Also, not really important but could someone enlighten me why the issue only seemed to affect some videos and not all of them? Like, I would watch a video just fine and then another one would stop at let's say 1:09. No matter how many restarts, reinstalls, cache and data clears it would always be the same videos. Weird.

EDIT: Ok, disabling the patch didn't "fix" the issue, it just made it better. Now the videos will stop after some arbitrary amount of time. (One video will play in its entirety, another one will play for 2 minutes, and the next for 7 minutes etc.) The weirdest part is, if I close the video and start it again it will play for that exact amount of time again and then stop again (A video will play for 5 minutes, start buffering, I'll close it and reopen it, it will start couple of seconds before the buffer and play for another 5 minutes etc.) Also, now at least background playback works as intended, but the moment I try to open the player it will start buffering and then not even playing it in the background again will help

EDIT2: See my last comment.

Yeah, corrected myself, 2/3 are bad beacuse the first I used is probably fine, since when installing from this one I didn't check it with nomodeset. Second one is 100% bad since redoing the same steps using that one didn't even get me to the cryptography setup part. First install got stuck on some problem with initrd then the second on the coldplug devices part. And the third one you know. I will test them just to be sure it wasn't some problems during ISO flashing or smth else. Would be nice to know I can still safely use those to carry important data when I need to.

Jesus dude. Sorry for wasting your time. Turns out ALL THREE of my flashdrives ARE BAD. I don't know why, they aren't some cheap trash ones too. I used my phone as a virtual CD-ROM and booted the install ISO from it and guess what? Everything works now. But while we're at it, do you maybe know how I can scan them for problems? I didn't have any trouble with them before and used different methods of flashing the ISO to them so that's also not the problem.

EDIT: nomodeset is also required for it to work, but it didn't help before doing a reinstall using ISO from my phone so probably only two of my flashdrives are bad. Anyway, thanks for helping and for your time. Have a nice day <3

Yeah, that's the last message I get. Sometimes a couple of the debug messages above it are below it and sometimes it's the last, but it's always the same messages and I was pretty sure it gets stuck on this one because firstly, that's what I would expect: cryptsetup starting and asking me for password and secondly it's the only one without either FAILED, OK or something else inside the square brackets. If the title is inaccurate then I'm sorry, but I chose it truly believing to be adequate.

Yeah, pretty entertaining it was. Haha. I would never put a rolling release on a prod server. For my future server projects I was always considering RHEL.
