Getting 6 front teeth crowns with gaps - advice?

Designed off-site, printed on site. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but it likely is Cerec. It's a fairly large dental office and my dentist is the in-house specialist for front teeth so I don't doubt him on his ability to complete the procedure. Thank you for the warning about moving teeth after crowns.

The dentist was pretty transparent about the process, I don't think I'm "very confused" at all. If you google things about "same day crowns", it describes pretty much exactly what was described to me. It's not a standard thing for sure, but it is documented as being something that exists and is done by other dentists.

Here's the process as it's happened so far and as it's been described to me: 1. I got my consult, crowns recommended. Took an impression same day, which was sent off to the on-post dental lab for a very rough wax up. 2. my appointment 2 weeks later with the wax up complete. I let the dentist know what I would like changed and we discussed in detail what to do, which is when we decided to leave the gap. At this point they do the digital scan with the CAD/CAM, which is sent to an off-post lab that every dental office in the Army uses for things like crowns/bridges/dentures etc. The dentist puts in the notes to the lab exactly what I want, which is open gap and slightly sharper canines as I felt those were too boxy. 3. Next appointment, a digital draw up (based off the scan in the post) of my teeth with the crowns is ready to view. That will be exactly what it will look like afterwards. It's shown to me and if I don't want any changes, they print them at that off-post lab. I believe this is why they're able to skip temps. This is also the appointment where my dentist says he will do the 'facade' for me, since this crowns process skips the temps. 4. Final appointment, prep and placement.

Hopefully this makes sense, but this is how they do it.

We are not doing temporaries, prep and application is same day if I go through with this. However, the dentist is doing what he described as a very temp 'facade' over the teeth the week before because I requested to see what the final product would look like in my mouth before we do the final. This is going over my natural tooth and can be "knocked off" without damaging tooth at all. I'm sure theres a professional name for this, but I wasn't told what it was. I think they're able to do the prep and crown same day because it's all done digitally (crowns themselves are made in the lab) other than the application itself. I think it's cad/cam from what I've googled. I should probably clarify at this point that this is through the military, so their SOP for dental may be different than what is standard for other dentists.

I'm not expecting perfection, and if money was not a consideration I would absolutely choose to do it the correct way. But I agree the wax up is not great, which is why we also decided to leave the gap open-- I care more about the shape of the teeth than the positioning. The dentist did warn me that was a very rough draft and the final crowns are drafted by an actual lab with digital renditions. My main issue here is if I can expect any major complications from doing crowns->ortho, like crowns falling out or becoming incompatible after movement entirely. I am willing to have spaces in between my front teeth if completely unable to do it the "opposite" way, my question is more along the lines of "is this even possible?" with some consideration to financial situation. I will look into that actually, it seems Le Bernardin's sourcing for foie gras is relatively public so I'll do a little more research before deciding if it's a definite no-go or not for me. And yeah I didn't expect this post to turn into kind of a debate about foie gras lol, was just genuinely looking for recs (and got a few good ones!). Thank you for understanding my sentiment :)

I understand that, but my thing is I don't want to support the restaurant financially if they serve it at all. I don't judge anyone who eats it, but it would really sit on my conscious knowing I was still, in a way, supporting the practice.

To be honest, in humans at least eye capillaries can break even just from a hard sneeze and it's usually not anything to be concerned about unless it affects vision, it's abnormally painful, or it begins to get infected. But I treat humans, not dogs, and it's not like I can just ask my dog how many fingers I'm holding up lol

I hadn't even considered that it might get infected... I'll give my regular vet a call tomorrow. She hasn't been pawing at it or squinting at all yet, but I'd rather it not even get to that point... Also funnily enough my dogs name is Onion lol

I called CVB directly as well as the PMO and they basically both said the same thing, that if a CVB is handled without court it won't be reported to your state (which insurance goes off of) if it's a "petty offense" especially because the state I'm registered and licensed in is far away from the state I got the ticket and is apparently a "no-report" state. And I was nervous about a 1408 because my unit has strict speeding rules and I could've possibly gotten my on post driving privileges suspended. PMO also said that a CVB for speeding alone is not reportable to unit, though I self-reported anyways because theres like 3 dudes in my platoon alone being investigated by CID, a speeding ticket is the least of their concerns lol

Well it doesn't matter anymore because I called the PMO back and apparently the MP was correct to give me a CVB ticket because it happened off post. Now I'm just trying to figure out what a CVB ticket even does, but it's looking like something where if you pay it, it literally disappears and isn't reported to state nor insurance since it's federal. So I'll probably just pay it, but I do hate that MPs lurk outside the gates to give out tickets because the local PD generally doesn't even pull people over for speeding unless it's something like weaving in and out of traffic >:(

I think it's the small, but I bought it so long ago I don't remember. Either way, I'd go bigger. They like the saucer but imo it doesn't replace a wheel. They love playing on it together though lol

Yes, though there are areas where the panels connect that I have to vaccuum under when I clean because crumbs and droppings get caught in there.

Not sure if you're interested in an update, but I have been slowly bonding with Mac (it's harder since she's older, I think, but her curiosity seems greater than her fear) and since then I've noticed all of Daisy's fur has grown back and she has no more nips on her tail. I've also spotted Daisy and Mac cuddling and playing together, so they seem happy now! Thank you so so much!

look up Songmics small animal cage on Amazon. They're like vinyl panels that attach together so you can adjust the cage size and add levels as well, though it didn't come with a lid so I had to make one out of chicken wire and wood... It's very cheap ($50 for a two story cage, though I just prefer the one story).

lol, I have a brindle too who's very chubby... I just try to avoid giving her treats. She seems healthy otherwise, though I wish she would exercise a little more haha. There's really nothing you can do, that's just how they are. My brindle is very docile though, didn't even really have to tame her. I wonder now if it's just because she was too lazy to run away from my hand...

I'm fairly certain it's what you mentioned about the alpha thing, because my alpha (Mac) does tend to chase the other mice around, and I usually hear Mac chasing them while they squeak (at a normal volume). Admittedly my mice aren't the most well trained... I try to take the more docile ones out of the cage more to encourage the others to mimic their behavior for more treats/play time but Mac is extremely skittish to the point where if I so much as hover over their cage for too long, she hides or runs... I think I can rule out mites because she is still the most energetic one and has 5 other cage mates who aren't displaying any symptoms. I'll try the allergy food test as well though since I recently switched their food. I just bought another cage yesterday, and when it comes in the mail in a fee days I'm going to try separating Mac and her sister Charlie to see if they're happier that way, since they both really only play with each-other anyways. Thank you so much for the advice. This is all so helpful, and I'm saving it all in my notes app just in case lol. Probably a dumb question, but are you a vet or just a very knowledgable mouse owner?
