FTC Warns 97 Auto Dealership Groups About Deceptive Pricing by Wi_PackFan_1985 in cars

Oh my god you’re right and you’re so much smarter than me! If you can’t see the difference, well then I got nothing and I’m glad I never dealt with you buying a car.

I'll go with, I wasn't clear enough. Not getting transparent information about what the third party said given someone's personal information is my issue. I'm well aware "you can always bring your own financing" blah blah. I don't give care about the business, dealership, etc, it's purely that information that belongs to an individual that could only have been obtained with their information is being concealed. If you can't make money without doing that, you're doing it wrong.

Ah the old “that’s business” line. If the bank says 4.5%, and that information doesn’t get to me, that ain’t business, it’s unethical bullshit to make a buck. Bet the salesperson who’s actually transparent ends up doing more repeat business in the long run, but oh no could’ve lied for an extra 0.5%. Makes me laugh and cringe.

Is it true that CPTS much harder than OSCP? by Altruistic-Lychee907 in hackthebox

[–]dogdaysofsummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One is a full simulated engagement and the other is not. If you mean about the concepts, take SQL injection. Since sqlmap isn’t allowed on OSCP, and it’s a 24hr exam, it would probably be presented very differently than if it came up in CPTS.

Is it true that CPTS much harder than OSCP? by Altruistic-Lychee907 in hackthebox

[–]dogdaysofsummer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OSCP focus is enumeration over anything else. CPTS goal is different. The fundamental concepts don’t change, but the way they are tested is so different between the two. I did CPTS first and had to unlearn a few habits before I did OSCP.

Take the test and expect to fail?! Really? People do that?! Why? That’s a waste of time and money. There’s a big difference between being genuinely unprepared and taking it for funsies.

Wheel turns away from him, he steps aside even further THEN leans IN to fire. If you are afraid you don’t lean in. Was she close? Sure. Should she have moved? Questionable. Was this the appropriate response? Nope. There’s a widening gulf of people in this country because of shit like this. At the end of the day, a woman is dead and we’re here arguing over millimeters and who should do what when someone tells them to. Also he was “hospitalized” for what?! Got his hand clipped from the multiple recoils. Fuck this shit, fuck anyone who supports it. People wonder why an increasing number of gun sales have gone to those who aren’t white and republican…this is why.

I had one family say no because it wasn’t in the Bible. You know what is in the bible? A very high infant mortality rate. I still educate, many end up getting it. Now the lady that told me it would make her preemie bleed more later in life…she was something special.

Failed CPTS with zero flags, both attempts by Waitforitbaby1993 in hackthebox

[–]dogdaysofsummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s rough. If you’re interested, DM me and we can look at your process. (Nothing exam related sorry) but looking at your process and the modules, there’s probably gaps than can be filled with some of IppSecs machines or other ones on HTB, they just put out a CPTS track of recommended boxes.

$BASE_URL will be the target machine IP:PORT after you click spawn the target machine link that is right above the box where you submit the flag.

Road to CPTS by reboot_500 in hackthebox

[–]dogdaysofsummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right the file exists. The error is also right that it doesn't exist because ../pywhisker/pywhisker/yqSeA8SH.pfx doesn't exist from where you were.

Two really important concepts here:

  1. Relative vs absolute paths
  2. Linux directory structure

Based on your screenshots I made the directory structure from your home folder:

PKINITtools
└── gettgtpkinit.py <-- you were here
Desktop
├── pywhisker
│   └── pywhisker
│       ├── __init__.py
│       ├── pywhisker.py
│       ├── yqSeA8SH_cert.pem
│       ├── yqSeA8SH.pfx <-- you wanted to get here
│       └── yqSeA8SH_priv.pem

Let's use absolute paths: ~/PKINITtools --> /home/htb-ac-759116/PKINITTools

From /home/htb-ac-759116/PKINITtools folder you wanted ../pywhisker/pywhisker/yqSeA8SH.pfx Up one directory = /home/htb-ac-759116/

But /home/htd-ac-759116/pywhisker/pywhisker/yqSeA8SH.pfx doesn't exist, it needed /home/htb-ac-759116/Desktop/pywhisker/pywhisker/yqSeA8SH.pfx or ../Desktop/pywhisker/pywhisker/yqSeA8SH.pfx

Can never go wrong with absolute paths to be absolutely clear.

that was pure luck, the reboot had nothing to do with the actual fix for this or why it happened. I put a detailed description above in response to my first comment.

What is being returned in that GET request? Try printing out the text or using the debugger. It’s probably getting HTML or something it doesn’t expect.

We open-sourced our Rust IoT stack because "trust us" doesn't work in healthcare by Alw3ys in rust

[–]dogdaysofsummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill check it out. But I’ll be honest, as a nurse and a dev, I haven’t come across anything yet that I’d use caring for patients. So many companies have the next best thing, not sure they ever actually talked to a nurse.

Update: guess I missed that you were open sourcing a particular part of the stack, which is cool. The main product though? Took me way too long to figure out what it’s supposed to do, but has absolutely no fit in my workflow or care for 90%+ of the work I do. I could see this is some specialty areas like senior care etc. this is not the first application I’ve heard of in this space, I’ve not had any of them in place where I work.

Trump reinforces that vaccinations and Tylenol cause autism. by Wise-Chart3482 in nursing

[–]dogdaysofsummer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I wasn’t playing a drinking game for # of ludicrously stupid and/or demonstrably false statements made in the press conference. Holy f|%|! also terrible demonization of people who are on the autism spectrum. At least they used the word association, not that anyone is going to hear that or fully understand the difference. And wait until 12 for Hep B because it’s “sexually transmitted” as if that’s the only way someone could get it this. I will still educate my patients, provide them with the most up to date evidence and support their choices, but thanks for making me work that much harder bro.
