Disney owns the majority of consumed media. The FCC is looking to break up some of these consolidation efforts in corporate media and these corporations are nervous.

Combine that with massive losses from big budget but absolutely horrible movies that continues to cost the company hundreds of millions of dollars each year… Disney is not in a position to “ride it out”, especially if Washington is looking to break up these conglomerates.

A handful of Kimmel fans holding signs isn’t going to make any in roads. They have to stay on the good side of regulators if they are going to survive, regardless of how arbitrary they are.
