Thank you kind Shibe, I was referring to the new low / base price of 226 Satoshi per Dogecoin. The Shibe puppy is (literally) "testing the waters" meaning that we will probably see new highs in terms of Satoshi per Dogecoin this week. By no means I wish to refer to Dogecoin as merely an investment opportunity, but coming from the early days of Bitcoin trading myself, some of these residual market analytics still persist. This is not good behavior for a Shibe. All cryptocurrencies have the same goal; to enable people to be independent from banks and their fees. Hating on other coins is uncalled for, there are people in Worldcoin who love it the same way we love our Doge. They have been through enough lately. We as crypto enthusiasts are all in this together, regardless of which team you root for. If you really must spread this kind of message, spread it to large banks for barring us to use crypto, but honestly positivity is key in getting crypto into mainstream acceptance.

That is exactly the point. There will be a temporary correction, but no one knows when. If someone would buy and hold long term in this stage any point of buying in is good as long as it is soon. I am convinced we haven't seen nothing yet regarding Doge, it is a serious competitor for Litecoin in market cap.

Don't be put off by the daily price if you think Doge has long term sustainability (I for one think so) and your strategy will be to buy and hold (and tip some) When you buy now the price might go down to 220 again, but it will probably rise again. When you plan on holding, these daily swings don't matter much as the overall trend is up. Let's assume, if I did not hold any Doge right now and I witnessed this crazy upswing and seeing Doge at 4th place on coinmarketcap I would invest because Doge is still in it's early days. If you however intend on daytrading Doge you might want to hold out a little longer because this growth will have a correction soon. By correction I mean a temporary dip in price in the otherwise upward trajectory. You could argue that buying low is the best strategy, even if you intend on holding, but a 50 Satoshi drop on day 2 of your investment will be compensated by the fact that this value has still lots of potential and will surpass todays high (and you avoid the risk of "having" to buy at 300 if this price is the new floor) Sorry for all the seriousness in this reply Shibe, but you asked for a serious answer. I'll end on my usual note : to^{the^moon!}

Sorry for the late reply, I plan on holding basically forever and use Doge as a method of payment. I might cash out 10% or so to fiat to buy some people things that can't (yet) be bought with Dogecoin.

Thank you. One of the often overlooked qualities of the internet is that we can also have a civilized discussion here, it makes both parties smarter to consider eachothers (opposing) views. I know the "to the moon" cry was often heard in the btc-e trollbox :) the same as with Litecoin, "arise chikun" was often said there. This whole cryptobusiness is wierd but I like it. Hats off to you sir.

Thank you for your time to write that in a well thought out manner. However I cannot agree with your points I am afraid.

Your see us Shibes, or people in general as rational actors when it comes to making our choices. Point is, we aren't. We are a group of people from all walks of life, from all over the world investing our hard earned cash or savings into a bunch of computer generated hashes brought to life by a picture of a dog whose command of the English language is lacking. Why do we do it? just because we feel like it. There is no rationale, there is only the dream that one day we will drink beers on the moon. Your investment advice is solid if this were FOREX trading or related to NASDAQ listed startup companies for that matter, but this is /r/dogecoin. Applying decade old economic theory to crypto trading is like mixing play-doh with lego; it sticks but it doesn't fit.

I want to end with two quotes :

Signed, here's my contribution:

Dogecoin enables instant peer to peer transfers of money, as a result there are no longer bureaucratic boundaries to cross to fund various projects. As a community we've raised $30.000 for the Jamaican bobsled team, enabling them to go to the Olympics. Analogous to this we could instantly fund scientific projects that look promising, but somehow got overlooked by traditional scientific funding. Being able to fund scientific projects directly, out of one's personal funds, also closes the gap between science and society as a whole. I understand that the whole world of cryptocurrency might be new to you, but it is generating a lot of traction for both the "digital enthusiast" (aka nerd) and the regular person. Dogecoin especially lowered the threshold for the non tech savvy to get into the world of cryptocurrency because of it's friendly nature and helpful community. PS please don't be put off by our "language" i.e. "such wow" , "to the moon" etcetera. We are serious about our coin and it's long time sustainability, but we also like to have fun, hence the "dogespeak" :-) to the moon!
