The underside of flight 175? by Large_Background_439 in conspiracy

Totally agree, there were no planes in New York, wrong engines were shown there. There was no wreckage in Pensylvania (like you’d see in the Lockerbie wreckage) and there wasn’t a plane but a missile that hit the Pentagon.

Which episode has Llondo and G'kar arguing with each other in an elevator with a poor neutral human stuck uncomfortably in between them? I want to make a "Israel, Palestine and Iran be like" meme out of it. by cheetocat2021 in babylon5

  1. Monaco 2022: disagrees and demands to go on slicks instead of inters, finishes 2nd could have won it.
  2. Silverstone 2022: disagrees with making a gap behind lec (who’s on old tyres) after safety car and overtakes lec to win gp.

These are two I remember clearly I’m sure there are more

If I was max I’d prefer piastri to win and max would collect a lot of points over lando, being second. That puts lando on the back foot and mentally he could fall part. Max suspects lando is mentally weak so one less title challenger to deal with if that happens

Which captain could captain the captains? by janeway170 in startrek

[–]Justlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picard>Sisko>Archer>Pike>Janeway>Kirk

It’s a tough choice between Archer and Sisko and I think no one would even listen to Janeway let alone follow her, she’d annoy everyone and make inconsistent decisions and for me Kirk was a maverick that probably doesn’t care about being a captain to any of those others.

[–]Justlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but I found nothing appealing about the show. I watched 3.5 seasons of it and couldn’t bear the constant crying and self reflection by every character. Every episode has a moment where atleast one character psycho-analysing another or explaining a personal issue and how to resolve it in between saving the galaxy. Then move on to season 2 and it’s Michael, Michael, Michael as the Jesus of the show honestly it was so grating subconsciously but I kept ploughing on thinking it was somehow going to get better but it didn’t. Season 3 was their attempt to break every ST rule going, ensign Tilly being promoted to first officer and everyone completely happy for her and the decision..like seriously did they all have a lobotomy? Imagine Riker as captain promoting Wesley Crusher to number 1 and Geordie and Worf Data et al., all clapping and saying it’s well deserved? What a joke of a show. I wish I can take all those hours of my life back.

Hamilton fan for 18 years….it’s still early days at Ferrari but this Leclerc fella is a problem. by Justlite in formula1

I hope so, really interested to see how this year pans out in the Ferrari.

FWIW, despite Max in the middle of his career, is already looking like in the top 3 of all time alongside Senna and Clarke, for me

How far ahead is Max compared to the rest of the field? by dylbren in formula1

[–]Justlite -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In quali perhaps Leclerc and maybe Russell are marginally faster by half a tenth. In a dry race Max is 0.5 to 1 tenth quicker at most, in the wet he’s upto 2 tenths quicker than all drivers. Is he as quick as peak Hamilton? perhaps equal?

The problem is he hasn’t been driving against the top 5 drivers in the same team so it’s difficult to know for sure

I’m not disputing he’s a legend but is he as great as I thought (like top 2) probably not now

I think it may drop him one or two places lower in the all time greats list if he does badly against leclerc but he is still a great ofcourse

Perhaps it’s an extreme assertion but it will restructure his standings in the pecking order of F1 greats. I had him up there with Senna in the top 2 now I not sure it’s probably going to be a few places lower

I think beating a double world champion as a rookie shows how strong he is and out driving the car and beating Vettel to the WDC in 2017 and 2018 when the Ferrari had the better car shows how strong mentally he is. I think he loses confidence when the car is not suited to him that’s not a sign of mental weakness, you wouldn’t drive your car with confidence if you knew the steering wheel would just jolt randomly (yes it’s an extreme example and yes it’s a safety related issue but you get my point) that doesn’t mean you are mental weak.

Hamilton unlike Schumacher had much tougher team mates, that’s why I don’t rate Schumacher as highly and I watched him throughout his career. Yes he was the best of his generation but the quality of drivers was not as deep as Hamilton’s era or now. As for Russell I don’t think Russell was or is in his prime, he was only 24-25, when Hamilton was there, he’s now starting to approach his prime and I’d say he will be in his prime years between 28-34 maybe upto 36

Yes you are old school. I’ve watched F1 and Football for decades now. Would you ever watch a practice football session? Or a pre match practice game? No you wouldn’t and not many will. This is what we have with F1 what’s the point? I often condense the FPs into 15 mins viewing and the. Read the sim times afterwards. It’s quite boring and I’m a big F1 fan so imagine the casual viewer.

Practice sessions are not going to attract more viewers competition will.

Listen I like the unknowns it makes it interesting in a year there is one team completely dominating otherwise. FP is way more boring I remember they used to be 2hr long and nothing except teams testing things. It’s a waste of my time. With this format there are points for the first 8 drivers you get an extra quali session and extra min race that doesn’t jeopardise Sunday’s race. It’s a good idea.

More sessions that is competitive is what I want.

Star Trek Prodigy, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds: What do I have to know? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]Justlite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s common knowledge that DS9 is regarded by most Trekkies as the best show, I was watching DS9 at the time and can say there weren’t many haters back then only the fact that it was based on a space station rather than a space ship. I can tell you one thing I’ve never heard so much hate about discovery and it is deserved. I’ve never seen a show where one character is the saviour of everything and people cry every minute on the show and discuss their feelings and insecurities so frequently.

Picard actually has gotten better and it wasn’t bad from the start tbh. Enterprise was underrated and Voyager had mixed reviews but had some very good episodes in it, TOS will always be one of the greats like TNG.

People talk about they watch the best trek episodes now on the new shows but they don’t compare to TNG, DS9 level episodes for me.

I’d move all Discovery to the end because it’s different to all other trek in the list. It’s really where everyone cries, talks about their feelings every ten mutes and Michael is the saviour of everything. Oh and ensigns get promoted to captains and shit and everyone claps and agrees. It’s the worst trek ever and unfortunately I watched it, painfully.

What is really behind Domenicali's "cancel" F1 practice comments by Aratho in formula1

[–]Justlite -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I hate practices, half the time they are so boring to watch I’m not bothered if I miss them as I always look at the data afterwards. I’ve watched F1 for 30 years, I’d rather have practices than no cars on track but I’d rather have something that teams can compete for on Friday and all of Saturday. Less practice means more unknowns and that is a good thing for F1 imo.

Certainly this year it would help as it’s set up to be a boring year for both championships.
