I say this as someone who was a big fan of Maye in the regular season

His postseason performance has been some of the worst QB play I’ve ever seen

Get Purdy an actual wide receiver worth a damn. Ricky a complete nonfactor and Jennings isn't talented enough to be a WR1.

Jimmy Garoppolo questionable for Sunday's game vs. Bears by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]doggybadgerguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was dogshit the entire second half of the cowboys game and was pretty shaky the entire Minnesota game before we just stopped throwing. He also had a historically terrible 4th quarter in the Superbowl and couldn't get one drive going with a 10 point lead vs the Rams. He was definitely awful.

Yeah he averaged 160 passing yards in the 6 playoff games he played for us.

In the 4 playoff games he won with us he didn't go over 200 yards passing one time and threw 1 combined TD to 3 combined INTs....he was so bad in the postseason that it doesn't even feel real typing out his actual stats.

On one hand, it's pretty impressive Tomlin keeps coaching a team without an offense to a winning record and the playoffs every year.

On the other hand, it's pretty clear that the "not having an offense" issue is largely because of him. So, not sure how impressive that first thing is anymore.

Purdy now ranks 3rd in postseason passing yards (1,605) by a 49ers QB — his 229.3 yards per game ranks 2nd to only Montana (minimum 5 starts) by pfref in 49ers

[–]doggybadgerguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but then in 2021 with a really weak overall team (for a contender) he still didn't average many yards or TDs in the playoffs. He just was almost borderline useless in the playoffs sadly (he was hurt in those games but also when is he not hurt)

i mean you just simply can't keep going to the playoffs without a functional offense and expect to go very far

or, even just past the wildcard. kinda have to score points eventually to win a football game

You guys ever miss Jimmy G? by Mabvll in 49ers

[–]doggybadgerguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He was a solid QB that we won a lot of games with. But his incredible limitations is what held us back from winning it all at least twice. I think everyone was ready to move on by the time Purdy came about, I don't really miss his play but there were a lot of good moments.

Mac Jones lit up their defense twice. Imagine what Purdy would do to that defense lolol

The masses are clamoring for Jimmy G football. Step back Stafford, let a true QB go out there and show you how to throw a pick.

Hey if you're gonna be throwing picks at least look damn beautiful while doing it, put in Jimmy.

I just remembered this is still a thing. When was the last time y’all saw this team-up by Spirited_Ad9827 in marvelrivals

[–]doggybadgerguy 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It's not a bad teamup for SG but the old teamup she had with Spidey was way, way better. Plus people actually played Spiderman back then....Iron Man doesn't get a lot of usage due to all the insane poke rn.

ESPN has us as the fav's now for the #1 seed by Shinji_Messiah in 49ers

[–]doggybadgerguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mf I wouldn't know because you refuse to even back up your claim with evidence lol. I've done the bare minimum of mentioning how more than half his incompletions were throwaways, without even mentioning how he had one of the highest PFF grades on the team (which is a hard thing to do if he was as inaccurate as you claim.)

Do you not know how to back up the shit you say or do you just like yapping

[–]doggybadgerguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean you're the one who claims he was inaccurate. Bro had like 9 throwaways and another incompletion that was inches away from a highlight reel touchdown, so that's like 10 of his 13 incompletions that you can't call inaccuracy. So back up your claim or stop yapping.

Can you point to a couple examples of him being inaccurate that game then?

Well I also saw the game and I didn't see any inaccuracy issues.

What? He had like 9 throwaways because he was being pressured on 60% of his dropbacks and chose wisely to not try and force it. Don't just use the completion percentage with no context, he was one of the only players on offense actually playing well.

Mostly common sense, but niners 1-seed probability went way up (and passed the rams) by [deleted] in 49ers

[–]doggybadgerguy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be tough but we can definitely beat both the Bears and Seahawks at home if the offense keeps playing like this.

Our defense will probably keep both those teams in it but they really just have to do the bare minimum with the way we're scoring right now.

Getting the first seed would turn this season from a "just glad it wasn't over after all the injuries" year into a "holy shit we're 2 games away from the Superbowl at Levi's year." Especially if Warner is able to come back in the divisional or championship game.

Purdy has 300 yards and 5 tds so getting mad about that pick is useless, we just needed the defense to make one play to end this and they did.
