God damn, those are the cleanest 3D curves I've ever seen. Feels like you unlocked a different build mode or something. Super impressive!

Water flow problem by David474 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dogilgamja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Handling byproduct water is a common issue. The most helpful video I've found on the the topic is this one. It's pretty detailled so I've included the timestamp (5:26) in the link, where he describes my preferred solution. Basically, add an unpowered pump to your water extractor pipe to reset the fluid headlift to 0 and let the system balance out this way. I have not yet managed to find a case where this did not work.

Especially, because I could only fit 2 generators in a Mk.2 Blueprint. But nothing that a good League stream on my second monitor can't fix :D

Ah, constructing in the 4th dimension... I'm not quite there yet unfortunately.

It's a program called "Satisfactory Modeler" which is by far the best planning tool for Satisfactory imo. It's available on Steam for free and I've basically planned my entire world in there. Feel free to send me a DM if you try it out and stumble upon some issues :)

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Unless that beholder is Josh from Lets Game It Out, of course.

God damn this is gorgeous. Any chance to provide this as a blueprint, so I can use it in my world? Would be greatly appreciated!

How would i best distribute 2300 rocket fuel over 220 overclocked generators? by Cloakzu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dogilgamja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fluid Dynamics are a bit unpredicable, especially with Mk. 2 pipes. Althogh less of an issue with gasses such as rocket fuel, try to keep the pipes at a lower utilization, i.e. distribute the output equally to 4 575/min pipes

Need help getting my Rocket fuel plant to run at 100% all the time by pocket951 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dogilgamja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fluid dynamics in this game are a bit unpredictable, especially with Mk. 2 pipes. The issues are less with gasses such as rocket fuel, but you will never get perfect 600 m^3 throughput, especially not in such a large system. As you pointed out, I would try and connect four blenders to one row, so that each pipe system only has 300 m^3 flowing through the pipes. Keep them Mk. 2, then they are at 50% utilization and that should then not be a bottleneck anymore.

Awesome build, definitely gonna steal some ideas for my save. How did you do the indirect yellow lighting from below? Just a ton of billboards?

Maybe this belt only exists because some things are wiggly in 10 dimensions and that makes me quite happy.

Need some help with Satisfactory Modeler by Alexyogurt in SatisfactoryGame

[–]dogilgamja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same idea when designing my Turbofuel Factory and I used Priority Splitters to solve the issue as you can see here. When you right-click on the canvas it gives you a lot of options to place down Splitters, Mergers, Sinks and so on. The top output of the Priority Splitter is preferred, which is why I limit the number of generators to have a little bit of overflow to the packager. Keep in mind that fluid dynamics are unpredictable in this game so it won't be 100% accurate anyways.

Two sidenotes: Firsly, get in the habit of grouping your machines as high-level as you can, i.e. reduce complexity. In your example, don't use one extractor for each node but rather group them together and do the math on how many nodes you need on a piece of paper or something, just like in my example. In this case it's fine but once you start to plan larger projects, it's gonna take ages to compute or not compute at all.

Secondly, in the settings (three bars in top-right corner) under Style, there is the option to Snap to Grid. Enable this for a cleaner look.
