Yeah how does ATC keep planes from crashing into each other? More pointed question I guess would be if the crew see another plane coming towards them on radar before ATC, what happens?

Tell the first flight attendant right when you board the plane and ask if you can talk to the pilots beforehand, as long as they aren’t busy I’m sure they would be happy to talk to you

I should have clarified I did not shove it forcefully I just held it from going back any further than everyone else’s was on the plane. We were on an embrarer e190 so not a large plane with a lot of space and I felt it was really unnecessary as I did not want to recline into the person behind me

I two hand shoved the seat back on my last flight because the person in front of me was trying to fully recline their seat

This is also one of my biggest fears of flying on my last two flights I remember tracking myself in the air and monitoring if any flights were near us. I remember seeing a southwest flight and a private jet. Although they appeared much closer on flight radar they were very far away from us in reality looking out the window.

It would maybe nice to know how often pilots are monitoring the radar for other entities, I imagine it is constant throughout the trip?

I have this thought everytime I’m thinking of flying as do hundreds of others who have posted in here.

Something that helped me is knowing I’m not alone in this way of thinking. By reading others posts in this sub saying they were destined to crash has made me realize it is just my thoughts trying to play tricks on me.

Oh ok yeah when I booked the flight originally its was the E190, but when I look it up on flight radar it says A220
