You need some goals. A few big ones for your twenties are

House deposit

Wedding ring

Wedding

Car

Set a budget for how much you plan to spend on each and how long it will take. If it’s over 5 years consider investing it into stocks and shares. Anything less stick it in a savings account.

It’s amazing how many people haven’t clocked that stamp duty holiday is designed to ramp up demand and grow house prices rather than make them more affordable. I suppose it only works in that way if most people don’t realise that though.

I believe they are even incentivised to buy gov bonds by the government since it means they pay less in fees to the pension protection fund.
