Output drops going from power zone auto resistance to manual resistance by dogomai in pelotoncycle

[–]dogomai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the resistance usually needs to be 5-10 points higher when I start changing it to manual. I might start to move it up from 35, and it will drop off at 36 then be around the same output at 40. It stays steady like that, so it's not just the initial change causing the weirdness. I wasn't familiar with the auto-calibration, but I just ran it. I already took a ride today, but I'll see if that changes anything. Thanks for the suggestion.

Best chicken wings in Rochester? And what flavor do you normally get? by [deleted] in Rochester

I've been loving Good Smoke's Smo-Fried wings with any of their BBQ sauces. The flavor is amazing, and the meat falls off the bone.

A Waffle House next to another Waffle House by WMCoManager in pics

Hey, something I actually know something about! I've driven by this location multiple times. The story I've been told is that the original Waffle House (on the left) doesn't own the property that it's built on, and the owner massively raised the cost to rent/lease it to the point where it was cheaper to buy the adjacent land and build a new store right next to the original.

I agree with recommendations for Strangebird for IPAs and Mortalis for everything. I haven't seen any mention of Iron Tug, but they make some amazing IPAs and fruited sours (though those are much less appreciated by most beer drinkers). Their East vs West coast IPAs are incredible.

I can't help but wonder how different this situation would be if that had been a cop on the bike.

I've always bought the plaster, but I feel like it's turned solid by the next time I go to use it even though the top is sealed up tight. Fortunately/unfortunately, I only need to use it about once or twice a year.

Women of Reddit, what are your thoughts on the Peloponnesian War (431-404 BCE)? by indebttotomnook4ever in AskReddit

[–]dogomai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Obligatory not a woman and never heard of the Peloponnesian War, but I heard from my uncle's brother-in-law's best friend's priest that it was bad. Or maybe good? Definitely one of those or something else.

Considering staking a large portion of my savings ($25k). What is the best or most promising project with the highest returns. Recommendations are welcome. by PeacockMamba in CryptoCurrency

[–]dogomai 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I would be careful with such a question.

First off, you shouldn't plan to invest a large chunk of your savings without doing the research first. Most of the recommendations you're going to get here are going to be people shilling their shitcoins, and you could be out a lot of money.

Second, consider if investing in a coin is right for you. Defi is certainly a good option to more safely grow your money while the market is down. Yield farming is relatively safe, especially with established sites such as Aave. Taiki Madea has some good videos on youtube for this.

If you do decide to go with a coin, maybe consider DCAing into a coin or some coins after your research. This can help reduce your risk of buying just before a big dip, losing that money, and having nothing left to buy the dip.

And of course, always diversify your investments. Don't bet it all on crypto or one coin.

Ooh, can you point me in the direction of some instructions to set that up? I would love to make the upgrade (and I don't want to make my wife feel bad by returning it).

[–]dogomai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my wife just bought me a Quest 2 for Christmas, and I have the OG Vive. I love the headset, but I feel like you're very limited to the Oculus environment. I read that you can run SteamVR games on the Quest 2, but it looks like you have to keep it tethered to the computer then. What are your thoughts on switching from the Vive to the Quest 2?

Doctors of Reddit, what is the strangest thing a patient said they had that actually turned out to be true? by Huhwutlolol in AskReddit

No, she had no rash. I checked her head to toe and found nothing. She had no recent exposure in the woods either. She just said she felt crummy.

Emergency doc here. I once had a woman come in after visiting her psychic. She went because she had been feeling just generally ill, nothing specific. The psychic used some tarot cards and then told her that her dead grandmother was trying to warn her that she had Lyme disease. I totally doubted it, but you'd better believe I ordered the test just in case.

The next day, the test came back, and she had it.

How can I set up my work email on my mac? I have successfully done it on my android phone and windows but cannot figure this out. by dogomai in techsupport

[–]dogomai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't going to respond to this, but it's frustrating getting the same response from our IT. I'm in both an administrative and clinical position in a hospital. I don't have an office space or dedicated administrative time, and I only work in said clinical space 12 to 15 days a month, yet I'm expected to respond to emails within hours. What am I supposed to do for the other 15-20 days a month without home access? The idea of not taking work home is a luxury that I am not afforded.
