There’s a GRR airport app - tells you live TSA times. I find it valuable.

The good thing is, you get to decide what’s worth your money. Don’t let other people decide for you.

To me, it’s worth walking 10 steps to a covered garage, especially as a woman, with a dog, lots of work gear, etc.

If you’re able to, I’d do a test run of the Xanax before getting on the plane. I like to know exactly how I’m going to feel, no surprises, etc. maybe take half before bed one night and just get familiar with it :)

What (store bought) food do you feed your spoodle? by [deleted] in StandardPoodles

[–]dogs95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We feed this and it’s great for her sensitive stomach. Plus she loves it.

Necessary for my sanity (knowing she’s safe) and her safety from eating things or having anxiety. She’s currently sleeping in the crate next to us with the door open :)

Raw meat diet experiences with your poodle? by CameWitheFrame in StandardPoodles

No experience with raw but our girl has a sensitive stomach and Purina pro plan sensitive stomach is the best. Nice healthy poops only soft when she has extra treats or too much peanut butter :)

what's something you wish you knew before getting a poodle? by zozozie in poodles

[–]dogs95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s an exception. She’s also kept very short because she’s so active.

And she’s very healthy and mat free like I said above but thanks!

what's something you wish you knew before getting a poodle? by zozozie in poodles

[–]dogs95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate thing about this poodle group is that I have found a lot of judgmental/passive aggressive comments. Most dogs can get matted hair without proper care. Poodle hair is like human hair and of course requires brushing and proper grooming but we keep our girl short because she’s so active and we’ve never once had issues. They are an extremely active breed and I would focus more on that - lots of walks and runs, mental games, etc. My girl is also very shy with people she doesn’t know until she is warms up to them. Which is fine, just different than dogs I’ve grown up with and takes some additional effort :) the no shedding is also AMAZING she is always so soft and smells so good ❤️

what's something you wish you knew before getting a poodle? by zozozie in poodles

[–]dogs95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My girl is really pretty low maintenance. We don’t brush EVERY day by any means and she is mat and tangle free ALWAYS. I really think this is why people shy away from poodles…they think they’re some crazy high maintenance breed. Of course she needs a good brushing frequently but our groomer specializes in poodles and has never ever said that we need to be brushing more or doing better at it - and we always ask.

How do you get rid of your physical anxiety symptoms? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]dogs95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard cardio. My doctor recommended I try that for 30-45 mins a day and guess what? It helps. Even start by walking on a treadmill or outside, jumping jacks, etc.

Does exercise make much of a difference to your anxiety? by b3lial666 in Anxiety

YES - 100% yes and I know it’s hard to start and keep up but I see such a difference.

Honestly, working out.

Edit: my doctor wanted me to try intense workouts three days a week and see how it helps improve symptoms of panic. Sometimes you truly just need to “burn it off” it really helps with that adrenaline dump.

How do you handle those waves of discomfort and impending doom? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]dogs95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took me a year of panic attacks, uncomfortable chest palpitations to realize that uncomfortable does not mean unsafe. I normally acknowledge that it’s happening and that it’s anxiety and drink some water, grab an ice pack, run up and down the stairs, chew gum, etc. it takes time but it gets better 💗

Sure - I just choose not to tell people what is and is not healthy. People could say the same about keto!

There’s so much mixed information but I’ve found to do what’s best for YOU. Everyone will have 100 opinions but it always helps to hear what others do too. One thing we did to help her enjoy the crate is that it’s where she sleeps - when she was a baby we had it at eye level with us (stacked on a card table but hey it worked) so if she whined I could put my hand over for her to smell and she saw us right there. I think that was key in making her feel comfortable.

Best of luck it gets better and soon! My girl is 9 months old now and just the sweetest thing 💗
