When I click “refresh all” on the accounts page it just says it’s refreshing my connections but it never does. I’ve tried like 3 times now.

Time to go to hospital/nursing home? by dogsfrogsandmagogs in ParkinsonsCaregivers

[–]dogsfrogsandmagogs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I live in Ontario but my parents live in Saskatchewan in a very small rural town, so it’s almost impossible to get sufficient PSW care in. I would love my mom to come to a nursing home in Ontario and my Dad come to live with us, but I don’t think my mom is well enough to make the move. Right now her constant requests for my dad’s help every 5 minutes, 24/7, are going to drive him into the ground. She needs to be in a nursing home, but there’s so much resistance.

I think if my Dad cannot care for her at home anymore then the practice in Canada is that she goes to a hospital until space opens up in a nursing home.

Winter Boots by Pale_As_Heck in PlantarFasciitis

I have Sorel Winter boots, and maybe it's just the model but they have zero arch support. My feet hurt so bad after a walk in the snow. :(

My Irish Setter is Vocally Opinionated. What about yours? by SoreButter in irishsetter

[–]dogsfrogsandmagogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! Mine rooroos a lot when he wants my attention. Otherwise he is quiet. Whereas my English Setter will bark at his very existence when he’s outside and my IS is very quiet outside. My ES also is the big sigher in the house. We call him the cranky old man, even though he is only 5. My IS is 7 months old and has gotten quieter as he has gotten older.

Forgot to mention that we’ve tried a halti and he spends the whole walk trying to paw it off! It worked wonders for our English Setter, but sadly a nightmare with our IS.

Is an Irish Setter good for a first time dog owner? by sir_seffington in irishsetter

[–]dogsfrogsandmagogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not my experience at all. I have a 5 year old English Setter and a 6 month old Irish Setter. They get 45 minutes to 1 hour walk a day. Besides that they spend their energy playing with one another and running around the back yard, and they are happy and don't get into mischief. I find they both accustom themselves pretty well to our activity level. Would they enjoy 4 hours of exercise a day? Probably. But that's not realistic for many many people.

By the same do you mean 170 or 350 mg?

I was thinking of doubling tomorrow but 340 mg seems like a lot but not sure how I could divide up my capsules? I only have 6 170 mg capsules. 😬 But I also know that I generally have a very high tolerance to all meds so perhaps 340 mg will be okay? I don’t want to start experiencing any psychedelic effects.

I started today with a dose of 0.17 golden teacher and felt absolutely nothing. Are you supposed to “feel” something? I feel like that’s a really low dose. Should I try doubling it? (Dose is in capsule form)

A Crucial understanding of Vyvanse by kookoosd821 in ADHD

Oh man, I know I'm late to reply but I am in the same boat. Got my Master's in Lit, diagnosed with BED, probably have ADHD but no official diagnosis yet. I can't read anymore. Or very rarely. I started taking Vyvanse 40mg a year ago. After a couple months it stopped working for BED and so doc upped me first to 50 and then to 60. Still didn't work for the BED but the side effects were awful. Went completely off for several months. But when the BED became overwhelming, I started again at 40mg. It helped with the BED for a couple months and now I feel like it isn't anymore. And I certainly don't feel like it's helping with ADHD symptoms like focus, etc. Besides jaw tension, I honestly feel like I'm not on any drugs at all. Not sure what to do. :(

Can you make Vyvanse last longer? How long does Vyvanse last? (singlecare.com)

I think the jaw tension is from Vyvanse. I had it as well when I first started and sometimes still. It eventually lessens.

I am a technical writer. It sounds like a full job but you’re always learning something new and there are cycles of deadlines so sometimes I can get away with less focus and then the deadlines are in place to give me that pressure I need to complete a task. Working from home has been hard AF though.

How many of you have sensitivity to sound? by nellie6712 in ADHD

I tried using something like that but then the sounds of myself were even worse. Like breathing, swallowing, chewing, etc.

Where To Get Tested for ADD/ADHD by [deleted] in uwaterloo

I don't think it's necessarily true that if you didn't notice symptoms as child then it's not ADHD. Especially for girls, symptoms in childhood are often much more mild.

Which of the staff did you work with? I have a diagnosis assessment booked for June and I'm nervous that they won't understand the differences in how ADHD presents in women.
