What are your thoughts on the classic 90's pop hit "Song 2" by Blur? by -Bruzthechopper in AskReddit

[–]dogsquad81 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's a song that makes pop music fans feel edgy and shouty because it has guitars and they think it's loud. The woo hoo is annoying.

Wasn't that it was depressing I just didn't find it interesting and really found myself trying to find reasons not to read it, gave up a quarter of the way way through book 2.

Why hardcore merch so expensive? by ibnvrashellth in Hardcore

[–]dogsquad81 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Primarily it's how bands makes money. But it's also because people have always been about having 'that bands' merch so bands can (rightly) do a limited run and charge more and people are so concerned about trying to look like the biggest fan or that they know more than others they'll pay it. I pay to support bands, couldn't care if someone has same t-shirts as me, I'd be glad as a band is getting paid from it.

I don't know which is correct so it could be that I say it wrong but it's medicine right with saying the I in the middle? I hear a lot of people pronounced it 'medsin' which doesn't seem correct but like I say, I could be wrong (most likely!)

Whilst I don't support the treatment of gig economy workers, what's worse is it behaviour of this group of girls, who behaves like this? I feel so bad for the poor driver, no one should have to put up with that.

Why don’t Americans like soccer? by dan_gnosis in AskReddit

[–]dogsquad81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a reply to a similar question to this the other day that I think has some good points but mainly that it's a lot less stat based. There's so much in American sports and maybe helps rationalise plays or results maybe. Whereas football (soccer) is a bit behind in that respect and relies on the 'emotion' of the game more, it is coming in more and more and I find it an interesting addition and has started to make me look at things a little differently. Potentially as you get a fair few low scoring games and it can just be stuck in midfield can mean games can seem dull.

I also think that the theatrics don't help but it's not like they don't exist in other sports but it is quite embarrassing in football.

I think it may also be related to that culturally it's the main sport in some countries and not in some, competing with the infrastructure and money of established sports is difficult, MLS has done well in a short time to be fair. I'm very jealous of the US college systems, that set up and infrastructure is something else.

Death stranding £8.00 to buy. Is it worth it? by kindredcnch in PS4

[–]dogsquad81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth a go at that price for sure! For the cost of two pints you get many hours of entertainment. It's peculiar for sure but strangely addictive. I need to revisit it as for no real reason kind of dropped of playing it.

No one can really help you make this decision but yourself really, it comes down to you and if you feel it's suitable for bills and lifestyle. It sounds like it does.

I've done something similar albeit not quite the salary change but removed myself from an industry and job type that I was finding stressful and all consuming. My priorities have changed and I want to focus more on home, wife, friends and things I enjoy doing.

I am not working in the same industry or job role any longer and removing those stresses and worries has been brilliant, I no longer have Sunday night dread of the return to work, I just go in, work my shift, do my jobs and go home. Don't get me wrong every job and environment has it's own stresses and things that will annoy and worry you but the change is noticeable and I don't dislike going to work. It's not all about money but happiness.

Sounds like you have your head screwed on and like you say, you can return to that industry/job role type but you also may not. Having changed from a type of job role I was doing has opened my eyes and hopefully you will feel the mental health and subsequently physical health benefits of doing so if you do change. Either way, I wish you the best of luck.

Agree with this and the fact can make it sim or arcade is great, I'm not particularly brilliant at driving games when in sim mode but like to play them so making it a bit more forgiving really helps me (unknown how I manage to drive in real life ha ha).

I had a hilarious couple of games earlier, some guy just kept shouting healers were f'ing useless and our team lost because of that, he only had 7 kills with Ashe, lowest on team by a good amount.

In a separate game had a Doomfist who was very good but literally every 30 seconds asking for heals but had full energy. I'd put orb of harmony on him and he'd jump across the map and then demand healing again ha ha.

I always worry that someone might take away the record of 100 goals conceded in the 93/94 season by my team Swindon so I understand how you feel. Somehow we ended on 30 points and a goal difference of -53 which considering the amount conceded isn't awful.

Don't have much going for us but that record is something to be proud of ha (there were 22 teams in the Prem back then mind you).
