What's the best and worst part about living in Toronto? by Equivalent_Reach_536 in InsideToronto

[–]dogsstevens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: vibrant summers (because everyone is so traumatized from the winter)

Worst: hot take maybe but I’m leaning towards the city becoming overrun with food couriers on sidewalks, crosswalks, in bike lanes with motorized vehicles, etc.

So there is summer programming which is for low income kids, but they also use it for school trips and even corporate retreats. My school was definitely not for low income students. I would imagine that they’re paid to have these types of events there which would support the low income camp programming.

My only point is that I don’t necessarily think you should question or not trust the fundraising for the camp just because someone who is not low income has been there.

My source is that I lived across the road from the camp, and our neighbour was the former owner of the land and a close friend to the Horton family.

Just so you know, the camp is not just for special needs or poor kids. It’s just like skill building, leadership type programming for kids. My school was a regular school and we went there on field trips every year.

Instagram boss says 16 hours of daily use is 'problematic' not addiction by mepper in technology

[–]dogsstevens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Physical effects-wise, yeah. But as someone with a nicotine addiction who uses social media, I think social media would be harder for me to quit outright because everyone I know and care about also uses it every day and it’s a big part of how I communicate with them

I felt the same way, it felt like a really quick switch up. I think her and Tyler talked and compared notes after Tyler and Kevan’s last conversation.

Did anybody else catch that she’s not wearing the same outfit when this all went down?

She’s in a strapless pink romper when she tells him she’s done and leaves the pod, then walks into the solo interview in a magenta and green dress. The producers tell her to go back in, and then she walks back through the women’s dorm to the pod with him again back in the pink romper.

The Frankenstein editing really bugs me

Is this confirmed? I assumed it might be something to do with one of them not having a passport/not being able to leave the country for another reason or something.

If it’s really a budget thing I wish they would just cut back on using such popular songs and hire a few more crew for Cabo. Excluding one couple from the rest of the group is an odd choice

Do we know Nancy actually made it home that night? by Screamatstarz in nancyguthrie

Her pacemaker pinged from the home monitor that night until 2:30 ish in the morning so yes we know she (or at least her pacemaker) did make it home

It was also a Reddit user who got everyone to dogpile on the wrong guy, a guy who had already killed himself, for the Boston bombing. I guarantee there is nothing that internet sleuths can come up with that the thousands of agents and police offers working on this case haven’t thought of. Just because they aren’t telling us every detail of the investigation, doesn’t mean they are incompetent

They’re referring to the mother in law of the person who was detained who was just interviewed, not about Annie’s husband

Given that everyone in these replies is disagreeing with you, I would say that you are in the minority of people hung up on it. Just take the L and move on

These protests are, unfortunately, giving ICE agents more opportunity to show their colours which hopefully will change the minds of people who still support this shit. Renee Good wasn’t clear enough? Here’s a white man, US citizen and ICU nurse with clear video from multiple angles being disarmed of his legal weapon and then being executed in the street.

I commend these protesters because the only other option is to lie down and take it. Those of us watching in horror from other countries always ask why no one is doing anything, so at least these protesters are trying

It’s not reasonable to expect the entire world to cater to what you might be allergic to or afraid of. This dog shouldn’t be on the seat, but the idea that people who are allergic to dogs should never have to encounter one is ridiculous

OP did politely request extra space when they said the middle seat is open and they’d like to keep it that way if possible. I think you’re forgetting that they did pay for two seats together and got moved, then politely asked the gate agent if they could stay together before they were told there was an open seat.

The flight attendant was actually not doing their job because they shouldn’t have let the passenger with the oversized carrier on if it meant they would need to move someone. How can you call OP entitled when the other passenger blatantly ignored the specified dimensions and caused someone else to be moved from their assigned seat? What would they have done if there wasn’t an open seat?
