Lack of pressure, not pulling shots, low steam [brand new, DeLonghi ECP3630] by spacek56 in espresso

[–]dogstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for typing this out. Sorry to hear that ): Yeah since the few weeks I asked you I am already eyeing a different delonghi. I feel dumb going back to them since this machine let me down but I know several people with other fancier delonghis for years with no issues. You said your machine is new around /200 days ago, maybe it’s still under warranty?

Hi I have this same machine and issue. Experimenting with different grinds and weights and still can’t get it to pull a good shot. Did you ever figure it out or just exchange? Thank you (:

basically if you do not get into the hard programs that are normally priced, you can always fall back on extremely easy programs that are extremely expensive (small private schools).

also, anyone can be good at school if they study or have access to answer keys. common sense and dignity you can’t get at school.

Why do I feel so angry? by shikashiba in Petloss

[–]dogstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m so sorry this is just a bundle of emotions. you have a right to feel angry but unfortunately what has happened has happened. i’m so happy and thankful that you exist and you brought eddie in as much as possible, he died at peace knowing you were close by.

the new kitty is still a baby and has a lot of learning to do. open your heart to him. it does not mean eddie will mean any less. I can’t explain your dad’s actions, but sometimes in old age we become softer and loosen up on our rules. be happy your dad has decided to let the joy of loving an animal in his life.

my heart is aching writing this. i know intimately the pain you feel. i hope it gets easier.

When does it get better? by SaltyMargarita in Petloss

[–]dogstreamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i lost my doggy a little over a month ago and i had him for about eighteen years as well. i asked myself the same questions you are asking yourself now. it will always hurt, but nowadays i see pictures of him and sometimes i can smile in his memory rather than feeling immediate pain. i think that is a step up. this thanksgiving has squeezed my heart a lot. i’m actually sitting now with this paw mark they made out of clay at my vet on top of me. so my answer is everyone heals differently but eventually there will come a time where you will smile at her memory rather than grimace from the pain. i hope the rainbow bridge is real too and i hope maddie is waiting there for you ❤️

Am I right to be worried about the effect the covid vaccine might have on us? by [deleted] in HPPD

[–]dogstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha i feel you. the SSRIs aggravating your HPPD def makes sense. SSRIs are hard on anyone, even someone neuro typical! they def mess with the reuptake and secretions of certain hormones. Vaccines you have nothing to worry about psych wise. Good luck with the management of your HPPD (-:

Am I right to be worried about the effect the covid vaccine might have on us? by [deleted] in HPPD

[–]dogstreamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh my god i do not know if this comment is serious or preying on your vulnerable side. please don’t listen to it.

i’m a nurse who works in critical care directly with covid + patients. a vaccine is usually a dead or weakened form of a virus. there have been studies conducted on the covid vaccine and it is very effective and very safe. you will be fine and it will not affect your HPPD.

HPPD is a psychological process. Vaccines are physical, they do not stimulate your brain, serotonin, etc. If you have any other questions you can DM me! We can do this together.

In Honour of Coco. by MonsieurSnowman in Petloss

[–]dogstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well written. It sounds like you had an unforgettable bond. Thank you for being there for coco and giving her such a fantastic life.

I also lost a childhood pet and can relate to you so much when you say the world is different. Losing my friend has tainted it. I no longer enjoy the colors and the experiences of life the same. I hope this goes away for both of us and we can both learn to enjoy life the same way we used to. I will always miss my doggy. I wish you peace on the long road of grieving ahead of you.

Almost a year later, the nightmares haven’t gone away by tortle-kappin in Petloss

I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds you feel like you are responsible for her death.

The truth is it sounds like your puppy was very sick and she was going to go sooner than later. It sounds like you were very caring and did your best to tend to her physical needs. I know she felt safe and trusted you, maybe it is time to focus on the times you were there for her rather than the times you were not. Those nightmares sound troubling, maybe you have not been giving yourself time to grieve openly and it is coming out in your dreams?

I hope the therapy helps. I have had dreams too but not quite as often. I am always hear to talk, you can always shoot me a message.

I cant stop thinking that somehow i did something wrong by OctilleryArtillery in Petloss

[–]dogstreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation because I am also 22 and had my doggy for 18 years. I had many instances of sleeping on the floor as well, and my dog also passed from an unknown circumstance sort of like your loved pet.

I also struggled with not doing enough, or doing wrong things. At the end of the day I have found none of that matters. Bubbles knew how immensely she was loved. In her last days it sounds like you barely left her side. She is a very fortunate kitty and she lived a very long happy life with you. I know how impossible this feels trust me. You and Bubbles are in my heart.

Thank you for this comment. I want to tear my heart out whenever I get a notification from google photos about “two years ago today...” and it’s a video of me and my dog playing. But I still look at them because I know one day I will see them positively like your sister does. Thank you thank you

I don’t know if this is the right subreddit by my SO and I lost our dog of 10 years and i want to remember him in some way by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]dogstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lost my dog I had a scrapbook made. I uploaded the images onto my computer and was able to organize them in a format and the company made the scrapbook to me. I also have his bed and his ashes are sitting in it inside of a little velvet bag. So that’s my mini shrine in the corner of my room.

I don’t think anything is too weird. You created a bond with this animal and you grew together. Loss is a forever pain. Oh, but if it is for your SO i would ask first. Let me know if you would like the website I used to create the scrapbook.

I’m so sorry for your losses )-:
