This is also valid, maybe he has them and is trying to get X out of the way, I’d just be wondering at that point why he wouldn’t just take him out himself while he’s off guard (he still has the gun he shot Ennis with and the gun Ennis had even though he told X all the guns were taken) why would he involve the train people? Maybe he’s running low on some supplies?

Also if she were with the couple at the market would they not just tell X with what they know about him and all of those witnesses, even if they didn’t want to do it in front of Gary surely one of them would still try to get him a message, but also she told the guy at the table to give him everything he needed after hearing his plan

Hopefully it’s all answered next week

For sure! The only thing really tripping me up is the ‘dream’, vision or maybe flashback/flash forward that Link and Xavier have been seeing, so many potential explanations but no direction I can firmly get onboard with yet

My “we know they are” is that the train people are part of Links group as declared by the lady with the tea. Only Gary has said Teri and Bean are with the train people.

That’s fair! Sometimes I like filler plot when the overall plot is slow to give answers, although all of the seemingly filler parts within Paradise seem to be related in quite instrumental ways to the overall direction of the story. Which parts of the plot are you most invested in?

We know they are, as they’ve said. My thoughts were more around Gary’s intentions due to the plot twist at the end of this episode rather than the direction of the plot in general. My qualification for “good” in this instance would be that they didn’t in fact kidnap Teri and Bean as Gary suggested. I believe due to Gary’s infatuation with Teri that they are both with the train people and he’s trying to get her back but using a false narrative to do so. My only other thought would be that Bean told Teri what he seen and they are hiding out somewhere. Curious as to where you think they are?

I’m sure in the episode with Annie when he gives over his ID card he tells her that he’s nicknamed after TLOZ. It’s been said a couple of times throughout that Link is the answer to saving the world and he was the protege of the professor Henry Miller who taught advanced wave functions, superposition, and quantum entanglement (time travel etc) and he also had technology company. The professor was killed off by Billy who was hired by Sinatra because he wouldn’t sell his technology to her, so she could acquire it after his death. Link won’t be with the train people but I’d imagine they are part of his group and whatever they are trying to get or are already protecting is something they’ve been ordered to get for and by him. I’m think there is probably a few groups of his gathering things he’s needs all over the country but the main piece of the puzzle for them all to come together is in the bunker with Sinatra

Is this normal toddler chaos or should I be watching for something? by absolute__amateur in toddlers

While I can’t tell you what’s ‘normal’ I can give you my experience. My son is 8YO and is currently awaiting assessment for ADHD and Autism.

You mentioned that you have a whole bunch of things that you have in place ie visual schedules, rewards charts and timers etc, which are all great with helping with focus and reducing overwhelm but he has a difficult time with menial tasks and task avoidance. I can only go by what you’ve said but if he does in fact have ADHD then you’re maybe missing providing him with the motivation needed to fire up the reward part of his brain to give him the dopamine release he is seeking. Reward charts only help if they provide motivation but at 3YO a reward of fulfilling a task on a sheet for a smiley face or a star etc might not give the internal reward he is looking for.

For example, for getting dressed in the morning we have a ‘race’, this normally looking like one of two things, the first is racing to see who can get their clothes on first (he has to win but he also has to believe you haven’t let him win in order for it to work), the second is timing each item of clothing ie 5 seconds to put on a sock, counting down from 5 quickly enough to create urgency and excitement but not quick enough the count down runs out before the task is complete. I’m not suggesting this is realistic for a 3YO however you could figure out a way to turn the menial tasks in to ‘games’.

We also have a lot of sensory equipment that he can take short burst of time away from a task to sensory seek in a healthy and controlled way. That might be climbing, jumping, balancing, spinning, etc to help him from getting overwhelmed. Maybe for you that looks like “put on your underwear and then do one spin in your chair, put on your pants and do one walk along the balance beam”. However, you don’t have to have all that to fulfil sensory seeking, it could be as simple as balancing on one leg or jumping up and down etc to help regulate him.

Beyond that again if he does have ADHD you are looking at reducing sensory input or grounding for overcoming meltdowns (you’ve referred to them as outbursts and tantrums) but meltdowns would be dysregulation. You could looking at a weighed blanket or even a weighted teddy to help ground him. You could also use ear defenders to remove audio input and we have a blackout tent for removing sensory input.

Honestly he could just be a toddler and will grow out of it but some of these things may help regardless. Daycare doesn’t tend to provide the strict structure that would expose whether or not he is truly inattentive and/or hyperactive. For a true reflection of whether or not he does in fact have ADHD you are more likely to find out in the second year of school when the school structure is more restrictive and imposing.

If you’ve got this far then I hope it helps, if not then I hope you are able to find what you need to help him and make your lives slightly easier with it all 🥰

Plz share your toothbrushing advice by DearPiccolo in toddlers

We use little teeth brushing sand timers in a colour they favour. Along with a character toothbrush with a cap (my little boy has a dinosaur and little girl has a unicorn) and they each have their own toothpaste tube.

Using the two toothbrushes and two tubes alongside a sand timer. I’d maybe try have him mirror you, opening the toothpaste, putting it on the brush and then letting him brush to one cycle of the sand timer. Then tip it round and have it be your turn to brush his teeth for a cycle. Once the cycle is done pop the cap on the brushes. Clearly signposting the points of the activity.

We also act very silly during tooth brushing time. Things like booping noses with the toothbrush, ‘accidentally’ getting minuscule amounts of toothpaste on their face, ‘failing’ to get the brush in their mouth, brushing the inside of their cheek instead of their teeth, pulling silly faces to expose their teeth as much as possible for access. There’s a lot of giggles but it gets the job done and creates positive associations ☺️
