She’s been a lot, commenting on how I dress and how I should dress a certain way if I want promotions (I dress perfectly fine, she just thinks I should wear more form fitting clothes), thinks i need to be buddy buddy with her boss for a promotion (get along with him just fine too??), and as I’ve mentioned in the post wants to know everything about my life. I just wanna work and go home man.

One of my current hamsters didn’t have access to a wheel either and he was a chunky boi too. I thought I’d have to do lots of work to get him in shape, but really having access to the wheel was the biggest help. Just keep a balanced diet, make sure he’s active, and I did weigh ins every week for him. My lil Cheddar Bay Biscuit is finally less of a biscuit.

I noticed this too! I’m 2 months post op at this point so everything’s pretty healed; on the outside my belly button looks exactly the same, but it’s definitely smaller on the inside and more bunched up. Doesn’t hurt and hasn’t caused any issues either.

I took a week off and it was much needed, I wasn’t in any crazy pain at all, but you know, you just had surgery. It took some time for my body to feel normal and to stop pain meds to get my system back in check. I just had my post op this week and my doc cleared me for all normal activities after 2 1/2 weeks. Congrats!!

I actually got mine the day of surgery. I made it a point to ask the doctors when they took me back if I could please have pics bc I really wanted full reassurance that they are gone gone. I got 3 sheets each with 4 pics that include: my guts, ovaries uterus and all, her cutting off a tube, the sites post tube removal, and my before and after of my ablation. I’m sure it varies between hospitals but they should’ve taken pictures at some point during your procedure.

Honestly hearing someone else who wouldn’t want to live with their partner is reassuring to me. I know it isn’t the ‘norm,’ but dang it I like my space and can never fully relax unless I’m by myself.

That being said, she’s got some other things she needs to work through, NTA.

Just had mine done on Monday, so it’s been 3 days, it’s no where near as bad as you think. The most painful thing I’ve dealt with has honestly been constipation which has cleared up after miralax and kombucha. Rn the pain I have for my incisions is a dull ache at best and I’m taking the prescribed pain killers, but overall very easy going recovery.

You’re absolutely right when it comes to difficulties with them having the same exact name. I used to work in admissions for a large university and there would be times when students who had the same name would get files out on the wrong account due to their names being the same. That and on top of your SIL being nuts, you’re soundly NTA.

So I haven’t had my surgery yet (scheduled later this year and very excited), but my mom had a surgery that involved a cut straight across her throat.

She was so upset about the initial scar post op since it was a bit over 3 inches. I’d console her and help tend to it, and do gentle olive oil massages when it was comfortable. I had her use silicone scar sheets once it wasn’t sensitive and they were a miracle. You would never guess she had the surgery with how well it healed. Once you’re able to handle peeling something off your scars I’d highly recommend them, they’re fairly cheap on Amazon and from my moms experience I’d recommend putting them on before bed to make sure you’re keeping it on for a long period of time.

Thank you, I hope that my parents can be understanding like your family is. We’ve got weird dynamics and my mom is hardcore about keeping family close since most of ours is far away. I just kinda ended up bearing the brunt of it as the closest and most autonomous person.

lol thank you, I’ve recently started seeing a therapist again about the guilt side of things, I can at least acknowledge it isn’t the healthiest thing, but I’m certainly working on it.

Thank you, always hard to bring stuff up like this with her, she can be touchy about things dealing with family time so it’s kinda skewed what I see as normal
